ROLE

We are looking for a smart, dynamic, and creative public relations professional to join our Corporate Communications team in Nashville. Reporting to AB's Head of Corporate Communications, you will be a key member of the team, responsible for executing major PR initiatives for the Bernstein Private Wealth Management (PWM) business, in alignment with the firm's broader corporate PR efforts and brand. The role will have a dotted reporting line into Bernstein PWM's Head of Private Wealth Platform and Partnerships.

In this exciting new role, you will manage media relationships with top-tier, local, and trade outlets, proactively leading innovative PR campaigns that elevate Bernstein PWM's executive leadership team, thought leadership, and business at the national level. This includes working occasionally with local marketing colleagues to support regional Financial Advisor initiatives. You will also work closely with Bernstein PWM's social media team, helping to build and execute compelling campaign strategies to increase PWM's social presence.

THE DEPARTMENT

AB's Corporate Communications team is a nimble, global team responsible for all internal firm communications and external communications, including media strategy and public relations facets, and supporting AB's executive leadership team and their speaking engagements. The team is also responsible for AB's corporate website content in addition to the firm's social media channels, overseeing strategy, content, creation, and execution of social campaigns, and expanding engagement.

Bernstein PWM offers sophisticated wealth-planning tools and expert advice for high-net-worth individuals, families, and smaller institutions, helping investors make their money meaningful.

RESPONSIBILTIES

• You will assist and support in developing strategies and executing proactive media strategies for Bernstein PWM's executive team and business
• Day-to-day frontline media relations including cultivating and managing relationships with key news outlets and journalists
• Work closely with Bernstein PWM senior leadership to better communicate their messages and initiatives to external audiences
• Occasional national travel, 10%
• Monitor the news for industry/market trends and developments
• Write collateral for media events/interviews (backgrounders, talking points, press releases, pitches, etc.)
• Identify opportunities to grow Bernstein PWM's media presence
• Work with analytics to provide timely and informative reporting
• Manage relationship with third party PR consultancy, focused on Bernstein PWM
• Work closely with Bernstein PWM's social media team, helping to build and execute compelling campaigns

QUALIFCATIONS

• A degree in a related field preferred (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, etc.)
• At least 5 years of experience in either in-house or agency media relations experience
• Strong foundational knowledge of financial services industry and an interest to learn more
• Experience in building and executing social media campaigns
• Excellent internal and external relationship building skills
• Highly collaborative individual
• Outstanding organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Confidence interacting with members of the news media
• Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Desire to translate key strategic business or financial issues into clear, accessible messages that resonates with media, influencers, clients, and prospects
• Able to think and act quickly, analytically, and creatively to accommodate dynamic business environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Expertise in media pitching and writing press releases
• Working knowledge of PR tech applications, including Cision and Meltwater
