Communications Director
As our Communications Director, you will play a pivotal role in putting the tastytrade brands on the map. You will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing measurable consumer communication that supports the business' ambitious growth plans, strategic goals and priorities, and, that are fully integrated with the overall marketing and brand agenda. What you’ll do:
- Develop and lead communication strategy for the US to elevate the tasty brand and increase awareness among key target audiences and the financial community.
- Increase the company’s share of voice on topics and themes connected to the company’s commercial goals vis US trade, consumer, and top tier media outlets
- Oversee the integration of PR with other communication channels and partner with marketing to determine strategic ways to amplify marketing programs and further business goals via PR
- Manage the US press office, which includes, but is not limited to drafting press releases, business updates and other collateral to engage media and other external stakeholders
- Assess the regulatory landscape from a comms/media perspective and provide strategic counsel as to best way to minimize reputational and compliance risks and implement crisis comms strategy in coordination with the IG Group global comms team
- Leverage and enhance strong executive visibility by company leaders and train additional corporate spokespeople. Manage in-bound PR opportunities and oversee awards, calendars and submission processes for the company and key senior leadership
- Adept at reporting and benchmarking US media coverage - including using platforms such as Signal AI, ability to report on all PR initiatives regularly
- Monitor competitor coverage and react to market movements that provide opportunities to insert tasty brands into timely news and create momentum.
- Manage agency or consultant to gain additional media coverage and increase stature of the tasty brand.
Who you’ll report to and work with:
In this highly visible position you’ll work collaboratively with the entire marketing team and report directly to the VP Brand. This position will also work extremely closely with the CMO and our most senior executive team along with key tastytrade on-air talent ,so we’re looking for a strong communicator with a passion for working with diverse, fun and energetic personalities.
Who you are:
- Experience in developing and implementing highly effective and creative communication strategies, specifically proactive earned media campaigns
- Excellent writing skills with a strong communication style that can reflect and represent the personality and tone of our brands when speaking with media
- Excels in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Experience working in regulated industries and working with legal and compliance to ensure appropriate risk mitigation is a plus
- Strong breadth of knowledge of financial services industry, global marketplace, and trends is appreciated
- Entrepreneurial, driven self-starter, with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic
- Examples of successful engagement and relationship building with tier one media
- Experience in creative communications development, thought leadership, and associated measurement strategies
