Our PR team is charged with crafting interesting and insightful stories to inform and educate media, advertisers, partners, employees, and influencers about Yahoo.
A Lot About You:
With nearly 900M users, there are only a handful of companies in the world that work at our scale. You will be responsible for storytelling around the products, content, and platform. You will need to be enterprising, comfortable working on tight deadlines, and have a passion for creatively messaging complex concepts to a variety of audiences.
The PR Manager must be very familiar with the consumer, business tech media, and how to appeal to them. You will be responsible for producing product content (blog posts, bylines, etc.), announcement plans, and ideas that promote a steady flow of positive news for our products.
Most importantly, you must be a passionate storyteller, skilled writer, and strong copy editor. You will use the stories you craft along with our business partners for multiple purposes, including strategically pitching them to journalists. The ideal candidate will already have solid relationships with consumers, media, business, and tech reporters and editors. You will need to be collaborative, but also know how to lead.
Responsibilities:

  • Devise a cohesive product PR strategy in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Develop strong narratives around key topics
  • Write and copy- edit blog posts, press releases, and other content
  • Place needle-moving stories that aptly demonstrate Yahoo
  • Develop relationships with key journalists
  • Grow our consumer voice in a way that positively influences consumer, business, advertising, and technical communities
  • Identify key publications and opportunities to showcase top talent in the company
  • Work with teams to place spokespeople at priority speaking opportunities
  • Leverage social media channels to extend reach of stories and messaging


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years of media experience
  • Proven record of placing and/or crafting stories with consumer angles
  • Ability to extract salient information from multiple sources and synthesize narratives
  • Creative, positive, and high-energy individual with an ability to execute
  • Deep relationships with consumer and tech media
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $94,125.00 - $156,875.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
