Department OverviewWe are seeking a corporate communications career professional to support our head of corporate communications and partner with customers and colleagues to achieve significant PR results for Motorola Solutions.
Job Description
Daily work may include supporting corporate communications initiatives such as earnings or acquisitions, strategic thought leadership, media pitching, staffing interviews or brainstorming the next great PR strategy by leveraging key milestones.
Candidates should have a strong interest in corporate communications, media, storytelling and research. You should be a creative thinker that has a track record of turning your original ideas into media successes. Strong writing and communication skills are a must. As part of our media relations staff, you’ll need to pivot quickly and juggle multiple tasks throughout the day. Support key corporate communications initiatives such as earnings and acquisitions, gathering feedback across executive-level stakeholders and translating it into a well thought out communications plan. This can include but is not limited to, developing press releases, internal talking points and customer talking points.
Manage the development of comprehensive crisis communications plans as needed, working across the business with various stakeholders.
Develop and implement strategic thought leadership plans for executives across the company, serving as a strategic advisor and identifying trends/topics where company leaders can contribute their expertise.
Work collaboratively with the communications team and internal stakeholders to proactively identify, develop and pursue story ideas that showcase the company’s leadership in technology and innovation, and promote internal stakeholders as experts.
Draft media relations materials including pitches, briefing materials, press releases, and contributed content demonstrating writing excellence throughout.
Cultivate relationships with key state, national and media writers and producers.
Generate top-tier media coverage, coordinating interviews from start to finish with internal spokespeople.
Manage top-tier award submissions
Partner with North America and Product communications leads to identify potential storylines to amplify.
Track external media coverage and report on the success metrics.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations or related field and 5+ years of professional experience in public relations required.
Experience working with complex subject matters with the ability to translate complex concepts into lay-friendly language for media outlets.
Have excellent writing skills and be a creative, clear communicator with knowledge of AP Style and the ability to adapt to and sustain a brand voice.
Be a self-starter, creative, innovative, and a knack for thinking “out of the box” and possess the ability to relate effectively with people of various backgrounds and ages, as part of an institutional commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and quickly with strong attention to detail.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience
