What You’ll Be Doing:

At the heart of Neo4j’s Graph Data Platform is our high-performance, scalable graph-native database that enables our audience of predominantly developers and data scientists to work with and harness the deep relationships in their data in ways previously not possible. We’re looking for a teammate that is passionate about the inner workings of technology and enjoys illustrating the power of using it to its best advantage. You love taking complicated topics and boiling them down to answer the deeper questions that come with being on the cutting edge of innovation.

The Neo4j Product Specialist (a.k.a Technical Marketer) role requires a deep technical understanding of database technology, architecture, and design patterns. Reporting to the Vice President of Product Marketing, and working closely with the product management and technical teams. You will play a key role in helping us communicate the technical nuances of Neo4j to developers and data scientists, our sales team, and field engineers by successfully explaining and demonstrating how graph technology can deliver clear advantages and new opportunities to innovate. You’ll also be the technical spokesperson on the advantages of Neo4j’s high-performance architecture, and be able to discuss the finer details of our scale, reliability, and security in comparison to other approaches in the market.

As a versatile team member, you’ll help us identify new opportunities and have responsibilities to:

Educate, Persuade and Excite: You love helping organizations understand how to best leverage innovative technology; through the creation of compelling demonstrations, evaluation guides, architecture and infrastructure content, and ecosystem-oriented materials. You get excited to develop explainer material (videos, blogs, etc.) that intrigue and excite audiences about the possibilities of graphs, and their advantages over classical approaches. 

Demonstrate the Power of Graph: Be a go-to expert for technical hands-on using Neo4, and co-develop use-case demos with field engineering and technical teams that ‘wow’ clients. This will range from internal and external events speaking and demonstration participation to field engineer training, and analyst briefings.

Accelerate Field Success: Leverage your technical expertise to clearly articulate the advantages of Neo4j’s Graph Platform to savvy developers and data scientists, why the architecture is superior, and how it will fit within their data environment/pipeline.

Be the Graph Technology Expert: Understand the ins and outs of the graph market, conduct analysis of emerging, evolving, and adjacent technologies. Know the advantages and disadvantages of different architectural approaches, deployment models, database languages, memory usage footprints, security implementations, and more that should be considered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in technical marketing, (pre-sales engineering), product management or systems engineering in graph technology 
• Deep understanding of different database models and designs; Relational, NoSQL, graph, document, ...
• Programming experience, and database languages SQL, Cypher, Gremlin, or others a plus.
• Technical, hands-on experience staging and building graph databases
• Proficiency with Neo4j (preferred) 
• Comfortable working cross-organizationally to build technical content; reference architectures, benchmarking overviews, demonstrations, infrastructure details.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to lead with a point of view
• Experience building compelling content and narratives
• Training or instructional experience 
• Organizational skills to manage competing projects with tight deadlines effectively
