Media Relations Lead

FINEOS is seeking a Media Relations Lead to extend our media presence and brand recognition in the Life, Accident & Health insurance market. As the media relations lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing targeted media and public relations strategies and plans and be responsible for tactical execution of media relations activities to increase FINEOS brand awareness. You will establish and build new and leverage existing relationships with media. Key outputs include media products (i.e., news releases, op-ed, blogs, etc.) and media messaging to achieve FINEOS goals, and create coverage reports to inform internal and client stakeholders. You will engage with FINEOS clients to create co-branded media collateral and media engagements. You will communicate with various internal and external stakeholders while building cohesive business relationships across FINEOS.

Media Relations

  • Develop and implement a media relations plan that includes the production and coordinated release of media releases and other press materials: such as byline articles, news and press releases, emails, blogs and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization.
  • Cultivate relationships with influential print, digital and broadcast journalists or thought leaders within industry media outlets
  • Understand competitive positioning in the media channels and messages differentiators relative to competitors
  • Provide metric driven media relations reporting including Share of Voice analysis vs. competitors using key media tools (Cision or otherwise)


Communications

  • Social media strategy/planning development/writing/posting
  • Plan, prepare, and distribute original thought leadership content such as byline articles, news and media releases, email, blog and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization
  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills and ability to synthesize information quickly and communicate complex topics while ensuring that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for FINEOS.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in communications, marketing, advertising or public relations or relevant degree
  • 10+years' experience in public relations and communications for insurance organizations with a performance-based growth marketing
  • Must be a strong strategic thought leader, with the ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data/insights into strong marketing strategies
  • Strong track record of effective collaboration with creative/brand marketing and product management teams
  • Strong planning, organizational, project management along with excellent presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, deadline-oriented and work well cross platform with internal departments
  • Self-motivated, coachable, willing to learn and also support/collaborate with larger team
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Previous experience working within the insurance sector is required
