As a Marketing Web Developer, you’ll get to:

• Contribute to the architecture, building, and optimization of the various features of the marketing websites
• Help optimize and streamline performance for the marketing websites
• Work with building WordPress sites through custom themes and plugins
• Build new content pages using best practices and data-driven approaches
• Update and continue to improve existing pages on the website
• Create things using PHP, WordPress, Sass (SCSS), and JavaScript
• Continue to shape and improve our quality assurance process
• Work with a wide array of stakeholders throughout the organization
• Work with our amazing design team to convert their Figma layouts to pixel-perfect web pages, while also having the freedom to give feedback and intertwine your touches
• Work with our product team to help forge our design patterns and help shape the next generation of Kong’s user experience
• Work with various colleagues within the marketing team to help bring their ideas to fruition and enable them to keep the needle moving forward
• Working alongside an ever-growing team of brilliant, thoughtful, like-minded colleagues
• Anything else required by manager

What you bring to the table:

• 6+ years of development experience, with a focus on PHP and WordPress development
• Full-stack developer with a strong emphasis on the backend
• Experience using SASS preprocessors (we love SCSS)
• JavaScript experience (Node.js, JSX, jQuery, etc)
• React and GraphQL experience are a plus but not required
• Experience with task bundlers like Gulp and Webpack
• A practical understanding of performance and accessibility best practices
• Flexibility and the ability to work within a fast-paced startup environment
• Experience with various data tools for user-focused and data-driven development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An eye for design and detail when collaborating with our various marketing teams
• A love for open source, a drive to continue learning, and facing new unique challenges
