The Marketing Lead, Guest Experience will report to the Senior Marketing Lead, Guest Experience and be based in San Francisco, CA or Los Angeles, CA. We’re looking for an experienced Marketer to help infuse our brand ethos into the core guest product. The ideal candidate believes that brand and product are synonymous and are as excited about working with product managers and engineers as they are with creatives. We’re looking for someone who likes working on fast-moving, highly-cross functional teams, can take something abstract and bring definition, and is equally motivated by building something new as they are with making something better. You approach creating presentations and documents as a craft and find joy in synthesizing information into clear and concise storytelling to galvanize a team. 

This person will be accountable for driving a variety of on-site marketing content like our Homepage, Wishlists by Airbnb program and merchandising as well as working with our creative, design and product teams to shape new product experiences. Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead regionalizing on-site marketing and content programs designed to inspire guests with all that Airbnb and our hosts have to offer. This involves collaborating with our regional partners and stakeholders to develop creative and operational playbooks, craft localized marketing plans, create measurement frameworks and manage the central budgets. 
  • Lead the positioning (informed by consumer and business insights) and go-to-market for new products and embed with our creative and product teams to concept designs and infuse our brand voice into the core user experience.
  • Lead highly visible programs and directly interact with senior leaders and executives to influence priority company initiatives. 
  • Partner closely with both technical and creative colleagues across the organization, including product managers, engineers, experience designers, data scientists, UX writers, researchers, creatives, legal, operations, policy, and PR. 
  • Shape project briefs and serve as a team lead for our in-house creative team responsible for content development and production 
  • Develop, measure, and reach objectives and key results at pace without sacrificing quality
  • Operate as an individual contributor and a cross-functional leader

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in consumer marketing and communication roles with leading brands. Direct experience on travel, design, or lifestyle a plus.
  • Successful history in on-site / in-product marketing, driving content engagement and adoption of features that is rooted in consumer insights, data, and cultural resonance. 
  • Discerning understanding of good creative, content, editorial, and marketing communications with a track record of shepherding industry leading and award winning creative work.
  • Best-in-class communication skills with a proven ability to work directly with creative and technical teams, and lead cross functional teams more broadly. 
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills, an eye for detail and a passion for brand narrative.
  • An understanding and passion for recognizing emerging trends across new channels, communities, and technologies, with experience building culturally relevant and impactful content and programs 
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives
  • Comfort leading and collaborating with both creative and technical teams, with a combination of analytical and creative abilities with a focus on design and storytelling.
