About the job
The Red Hat Marketing Data Strategy team is looking for a Marketing Data Specialist who is passionate about the use, quality, and impact of data within the organization to join us. In this role, you lead as a data steward and data manager to operationalize the use of integrated first-party and third-party data used in segmentation. As a data steward, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to support strategic planning and operational delivery of global marketing programs using data. As a data manager, you'll support data integration and data enrichment to deliver data solutions which improve the availability of standard quality marketing data for users. As a Marketing Data Specialist, you have a measurable impact on Marketing's effectiveness by managing quality data that is fit for purpose.
What you will do

  • Collaborate on and manage global data standards, processes, and policies for first-party and third-party Marketing data used in Marketing operations, e.g., segmentation and targeting
  • Support stakeholder use cases and ensure evolving data requirements are met to provide access to quality data
  • Consult data consumers on navigating data sources and interpreting data to support their operational and analytical use cases
  • Work collaboratively across functions and domains to manage data acquisition, enrichment and integrations to make data readily accessible
  • Evaluate and implement new data sources and processes that enrich existing data, support data capture, and improve data quality
  • Contribute to detailed cross-functional discussions regarding data standards, governance, architecture and strategy decisions
  • Engage with stakeholders and technical teams on addressing data-related requirements and issues, including piloting and testing solutions
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of data through operational monitoring, validation, and reporting


What you will bring

  • Extensive experience in data stewardship, data management, data architecture, data analytics, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing enterprise data in a master data management (MDM) environment, including customer, organization, and contact data
  • 5+ years of experience managing and stewarding marketing, sales, or customer data, including the integration of first-party and third-party data (e.g., Dun & Bradstreet, HG Insights, Bombora, ZoomInfo)
  • Experience managing data in marketing technology and sales customer relationship management (CRM) platforms like Eloqua, Marketo, or Salesforce.com (SFDC)
  • Knowledgeable with integrating and utilizing data in account based marketing (ABM) and customer data platforms (CDP) like Demandbase, 6sense, Adobe Experience Platform
  • Experience with data querying within relational database systems to support data exploration and prototyping data sets
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or marketing or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in a global environment with different processes and a mix of integrated and disparate systems
  • Ability to lead strategic and operational conversations with business and technical audiences to address evolving business requirements across global stakeholders
  • Strong data consolidation and transformation skills, including mastery of Microsoft Excel and custom scripts
  • Great problem-solving skills with ability to learn on your own and work in an ambiguous environment
  • Passion, curiosity, and ability to connect business needs, use cases, and processes to data
