CVS Retail Marketing, responsible for reaching 100M households and delivering $1B+ in annual revenue, guides customer-centric strategic roadmaps, prioritization, and execution of marketing strategies, campaigns, and pre-shop/in-store touchpoints that deepen relationships with our customers.
As Manager of Marketing & Business Compliance on the Marketing Strategy & Planning team, you are in a unique position to work closely across a variety of cross functional teams, including Legal, Privacy, Clinical, Marketing Operatio ns, Creative, Merchandizing, Loyalty & Promotions, other Centers of Excellence, and Marketing Strategy teams across Front-Store Retail, Pharmacy, Store Experience, Retail Health Services, Aetna, and Caremark. This role requires a unique blend of detail-oriented organization and project management with cross-functional stakeholder collaboration to ensure best-in-class marketing compliance. This will allow CVS marketing to reduce legal risk while achieving a strategic and compelling CVS value-proposition that resonates with consumers.
The Manager will be nimble, independent, and entrepreneurial. They should be able to centrally project manage critical legal and clinical reviews, proactively seek process and system optimization opportunities, as well as work on critical special projects. This person should be very comfortable working with marketing creative assets and have strong legal and policy acumen. The role should feel comfortable working in Excel and project management software to centrally track and log disclaimer and claim reviews. The Advisor should serve as both a central coordinating point of contact as well as a subject matter expert across the Pharmacy, Front Store, and Health Services Marketing teams to navigate and prioritize marketing reviews and compliant value propositions.
THIS POSITION IS FULLY REMOTE ANYWHERE WITHIN THE UNITED STATES.
Core areas of responsibility for the Marketing & Business Compliance Manager include:• Act as cross-functional primary point of contact for marketing asset legal and clinical reviews across Legal, Clinical, Marketing Ops, and Campaign Owners across CVS Front-Store, Pharmacy, Retail Health Services, Aetna, and Caremark• For both Legal Disclaimers and Health Claims, create and manage central tracking process for creative asset compliance review requests - capturing requestors, reviewers, risk considerations, and approval status• Create and disseminate cross-portfolio status updates, and proactively escalate and problem solve with functional leaders to meet critical deadlines• Facilitate prioritization, compliance review resource planning, and escalation conversations and decisions with cross-functional teams and leaders• Create, maintain, and train cross-functional teams on approved Legal Disclaimer and Health Claim repository - capturing approved and to-avoid usage guidance and best practices• Partner with Marketing to identify and refine CVS differentiating health product and service claims; support conducting research to defend health claim, and partner with Legal and Clinical to refine, minimize risk, and potentially approve• Partner with Marketing Operations to assess current compliance workflows and project management technology platforms and systems - to create and execute centralized, standardized, and streamlined compliance review process• Execute medium and long-term cross-portfolio compliance projects around Consumer Accessibility, Data Privacy, Signage Disclaimers, and Asset Archive• Learn and incorporate marketing compliance industry best practices and emerging trends from internal and external SMEs, such as by attending conferences around Price/Promo, Loyalty, Sweepstakes, AI, Data, Digital, COVID impact, Advertising Law, Earned & Social Media, FTC, ADA, FDA, etc.• Partner with Legal and HR to develop and provide training for Marketing leaders in the department, helping mentor teams to follow and engage in the compliance process; mentor team and facilitate capturing and transferring critical marketing compliance institutional knowledge across the portfolio
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 60,300
Maximum: 126,600
Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
Required Qualifications
* 3+ years of legal, policy, marketing, business, and/or consulting experience

Preferred Qualifications• 5+ years of experience working in highly matrixed organizations• Strong project management, detail-oriented organization, communication, and strategic thinking skills• Excellent communication skills that can be effectively articulated in both written and oral forms across a diverse audience base• Intellectual curiosity, self-motivated, high-capacity individual who can function and thrive in a demanding, performance-driven environment• Ability to act as an independent self-starter and anticipate requests to properly execute processes, projects, and initiatives• Creative problem solver who can identify and incorporate improvement areas into existing processes and act decisively and independently to execute• Proven track record of the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external business partners to facilitate difficult prioritization conversations• Consistently demonstrates professionalism, reliability, accountability, and flexibility in working with others• Proven ability to train, mentor, collaborate with, and influence partners
Education
Bachelor's degree in Legal or Paralegal Studies, Policy or Political Science, Business, Marketing, or equivalent (HS Diploma and 4 years of experience) Required.
Preferred:
Juris Doctor (JD) or Paralegal candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
