JOB SUMMARY

This position leads a team to provide assistance in identifying and supporting the marketing analysis needs of SouthStar Energy's Mass Markets. Responsibilities include determining, creating, and automating the next generation of marketing reporting, providing ad hoc analysis, creating business cases and models to determine optimal strategies, and developing recommendations for improved campaign performance to each Market Manager. This reporting and analysis will cross channels, markets, customer segments, and will seek to optimize acquisition and retention efforts to improve profitability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES BY COMPETENCY

Functional Expertise:

• Determine, create and enhance new ongoing reports required to analyze an ever-changing business.

• Create ad hoc reports as needed in support of Market Managers, Managing Director or Mass Markets, and SVP Retail Operations.

• Lead three Analysts to deliver upon required analysis.

• Provide analysis and supporting data for monthly pricing and hedging analysis.

• Direct marketing lists based upon marketing strategy.

• Provide recommendations to Market Managers regarding optimal strategies based upon analytics.

Business Acumen:

• Works with the Managing Director, Mass Markets and market managers to provide data support and program analytics to support the marketing efforts for the SoutStar.

• Provides direction regarding improved/enhanced tools.

• Develops key performance indicators for each market and segment.

• Convert disparate data into usable information to ensure optimal decision making.

Engagement:

• Provide analysis and subsequent recommendations to ensure that marketing departmental objectives, goals and KPIs are met.

• Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure market plan execution.

• Coordinate with other departments to ensure accuracy of data and reporting across all areas of the retail organization.

Driving Results:

• Consolidates, analyzes, and reports channel performance in meeting key financial and operational goals.

• Ensures financial and business tracking systems evolve to meet business needs and continual process improvement.

• Provides input into all SSE marketing plans.

• Tracks, evaluates and monitors marketing initiatives to achieve marketing, financial and business goals.

• Work with the Managing Director, Mass Markets and market manager to analyze all existing direct marketing channels (web, direct mail, call center, etc.) and programs and create recommendation for improvement.

• Determine overall campaign effectiveness including ROI analysis, acquisition costs and campaign profitability for the Company's markets.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Marketing

Preferred: Masters Degree in Business Administration

Related Work Experience:

Required:

• 10 years in marketing and/or data analytics in a business-to-consumer environment.

• Proven success in participating in cross-functional teams in market planning and data reporting.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a direct marketing/analytics environment for a service-related industry (financial services, insurance or warranty).

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Required:

• Exceptional analytical and communication skills.

• Strong strategic thinking capabilities and the proven ability to translate quantitative analysis into actionable items and/or recommendations.

• Experience in tracking various forms of marketing effectiveness including advertising, direct response, and integrated market planning.

• Experience creating financial models to simulate new ideas, concepts or channels.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Proficient in MS-SQL Server

• Proficient with MS-Access

• Proficient with MS-Excel

Preferred:

• Proficient in Microsoft Power BI or Tableau

• Proficient with MS-Access

• Proficient with MS-Excel

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
