Marketing Analyst

About the role/ About the team
The Marketing Operations team is a key partner and critical contributor to the hypergrowth of our Revenue Marketing team and the Marketing organization as a whole. Our team is setting the standard for what a successful revenue marketing machine looks like. Our mission is to empower the team with insights and recommendations to successfully drive revenue at every stage of the customer lifecycle.
We are looking for a strong data analyst who enjoys solving problems and answering open-ended questions through data & insights. In this role, you will deliver strategic and compelling insights that accelerate our business growth and influence go-to-market decisions within Drift. If you are a curious and motivated person who likes a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has the urge to improve processes and drive insights on an ongoing basis, you will enjoy being a member of the Drift Marketing Operations team.
What you’ll be doing on the team:
- Collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data, then translating that data into insights that guide our marketing strategy & go-to-market process
- Monitoring and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and delivering prescriptive recommendations to marketing channel owners that help drive efficiencies across the business
- Partnering with our Data & BI teams to understand the data landscape (tech stack, systems, data quality) and improve the quality and breadth of our data
- Developing dashboards & reports to help put critical insights into the hands of the team (with an emphasis on automation and scalability)
- Helping to maintain our reporting infrastructure and finding tools, technologies, or processes that will improve the accuracy & depth of what we can report on
In one month you'll
- Go through extensive company-wide training on Drift’s industry, offerings, and customers
- Meet with Revenue Marketing, BI and Operations stakeholders to understand current states of their businesses, and start to identify areas for improvement
- Learn the basic components of our operating model, key funnel metrics, and lead management systems
- Begin to attend and participate in regular MOPS reporting routines
By month 3 you'll
- Develop deeper relationships with the marketing channel owners and start to implement regular cadences to communicate with and report insights to them
- Gain a comfortable understanding of the MOPs reporting infrastructure, including Looker dashboards.You’ll have become proficient with building in Looker and Salesforce.
- Have a command over our data sources and have begun to document ways to improve the integration of all our data sources
- Produce and deliver detailed analyses to support new business initiatives or answer complex problems
By month 6 you'll
- Become a trusted advisor to the Revenue Marketing team
- Run meetings with stakeholders from marketing, sales, and operations that deliver proactive and consistent insights into the state of our business
- Collaborate with your teammates in Marketing Operations to develop a strategic roadmap for MOPs initiatives
- Be an expert in Looker data modeling and visualization
- Start to dig into our forecasting & ROI models and identify ways to build a more predictive funnel
About you and what type of skills you’ll need:
- 2-3 year(s) of experience in Data Analytics, Go-to-Market Analytics, or Revenue Operations
- Proven experience with reporting and analysis tools (Excel/Google Sheets, SFDC Dashboards & Reporting, etc)
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Looker, Domo, Mode, etc.
- Familiarity with key martech systems like Salesforce, Marketo, Google Analytics, 6Sense, etc.
- An understanding of data warehousing and data architecture (SQL preferred)
- You are comfortable working with large data sets and have an ability to translate raw data into simple insights, and communicate them effectively
- You are methodical in your routine and pride yourself in the accuracy of your work
- You are curious -- you want to be the person who solves the problem
- You are well spoken and your written and verbal communication is clear
- You can adapt to rapidly-changing environments and work with cross-functional teams
- You have a genuine interest in go-to-market motions and building a well-oiled revenue marketing machine
