Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of content moderation, social media community guidelines analysis, or experience evaluating policy and making enforcement decisions.
  • Ability to speak and write in Brazilian Portuguese and English fluently.



Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Project Management and leading cross-functional, global projects.
  • Experience working with Product Management and Engineers to drive progress on key programs.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive strategy and business action.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills with ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to speak and write in Spanish fluently.

As a Market Responsibility Lead for YouTube Trust and Safety, you will lead the Americas Market Responsibility Specialist (MRS) team and Code of Conduct process. The MRS team ensures that we are constantly growing our understanding of trends and risks in critical YouTube markets globally. This includes proactively monitoring trends and intelligence sources, helping to launch new product features with market, and language knowledge and ensuring our policy enforcement guidelines are informed by market knowledge.

Code of Conduct reviews ensure YouTube's profile creators avoid creating harm to YouTube's ecosystem. In this role, you will oversee the Code of Conduct process, you will enable YouTube's executives to make sound decisions on escalations. You will help implement and enforce our policies across videos, as well as define and implement operational plans globally, liaising, and working with stakeholders in areas like Engineering, Vendor Operations, Analytics, Public Policy, Partnerships, and Legal. You will specifically lead the Americas functional team while driving process and policy across global counterpart teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our vendor partners to improve the quality of the regional language workflows, developing training materials, and running regular calibration sessions.
  • Triage risks/threats, prepare risk assessments of threats, and action plans based on gathered market knowledge.
  • Support identification and vetting of external partners such as local news organizations, child safety experts, civil society organizations, or online social communities, oversee and propose improvements to the enforcement guidelines in order to incorporate cultural, historical, and language nuances.
  • Identify product feature improvement opportunities, and channel this feedback in a structured and timely manner to the Product and Engineering teams.
  • Cover key regional events and escalations like elections, natural disasters, or violent attacks, and act as the main point of contact to ensure that they are triaged, tracked, investigated, resolved, and communicated accurately.
