JOB SUMMARY: Will work within the Public Relations department and manage the development of PR strategy for UO's Trade communications initiatives as well as select strategy and tactics to help tell the overarching destination story. This includes overseeing the development of PR plans and messaging targeted towards the Travel Trade, Meetings & Events, Hotel and Youth markets. This also includes the development of PR plans and messaging that highlight the scope and growth of our destination to insure Universal Orlando is regularly featured by important consumer and trade media.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the development of overall strategy for Universal Orlando's key trade initiatives in partnership with department management and other key internal partners. These plans will focus on securing media coverage for UO's Travel Trade, Meetings & Events, Hotel and Youth segments.
• Manage UO's overarching destination messaging and media outreach strategy highlighting the scope and growth of our destination and insuring significant coverage results.
• Shape creative concepts and manage production of photo and video shoots and other written content as needed to support UO's Trade efforts and Destination Messaging.
• Manage all planning, logistics and implementation of UO's Trade PR efforts and Destination Messaging plans. This includes working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
• Manage 2 to 3 team members focused on UO's Trade PR efforts and Destination Messaging.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations or Communications required

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of related experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of communications field and broadcast production a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with excellent guest/client relations.
• Strong organizational skills
• Proven creative strategy/content skills
• Basic knowledge of video and photo production and logistics
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines, both internal and external.
• Experience with pitching and securing media coverage
• Ability to work irregular hours including extended days, early morning, late night and weekends.
• Strong need for tact and discretion with confidential information.
