Mailchimp is looking for a Lead Creative Director of Growth Design. As our expert in performance creative, you’ll help strategize, concept and execute amazing new assets that help propel acquisition for Mailchimp. You’re a consumer-first strategic thinker that obsesses over bold creative approaches that drive performance and deliver business results—you thrive in that balance of analytics, logic and creativity.

What you’ll do here:

  • Build, lead and nurture a world-class team of growth creatives dedicated to Mailchimp’s performance advertising, web and channels for both acquisition and customer marketing
  • Deliver against critical metrics, provide actionable insights, and accurately reflect our brand
  • Establish our growth marketing design practice, enabling high-performing results and optimization for digital ads (including paid social, display, programmatic, and paid search), email templates, dotcom, sales, onboarding and cross-sell tactics—eventually in-app spaces too.
  • Solve complex problems and design tests based on hypotheses and build frameworks to guide teams towards both innovation and iteration, with the singular goal to drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Collaborate with our Campaign Performance and Customer Marketing teams, co-authoring initiatives to create demand, conversion and upsell. 
  • Partner with cross-functional groups—customer experience; product marketing; customer insights; partnership marketing; sales; web strategy/development—to drive strategic expression of KPIs, helping balance CX, brand and performance objectives. 
  • Advocate for strong creative design with a strategic mindset for analytics and customer acquisition flow
  • Prioritize brand guidelines and rules to ensure all our work maintains a consistent design voice and tone across each platform and touchpointPresent work to, collaborate with, and influence stakeholders in growth, acquisition, marketing, and other areas of the business
  • Evaluate and partner with external agencies to supplement, scale, produce, and test new ideas across channels

We'd love to hear from you if: 

  • You have 10+ years of professional experience in design with 4+ years of history in performance marketing, growth marketing, acquisition, or other relevant work
  • You have 3+ years leading, mentoring, and managing design and creative teams
  • You are an expert abilities in Adobe Creative Suite and proficiency in Figma
  • You have a deep understanding of the digital landscape, digital channel objectives, user acquisition and business goals to ensure high customer conversion and retention
  • You are a consumer-first thinker who understands the power of insights and data to develop campaigns and programs that drive awareness, affinity, and advocacy
  • You have a love for media, data and creativity, which you combine toward channel-based best-practices, quickly capitalizing on emerging trends.
  • You thrive as a key advisor to marketing partners on user voice and creative performance best practices
  • You have deep respect for craft and creative excellence, balanced with an ability to experiment in lower fidelity ways to prove out an idea
  • You’ve helped launch complex automated campaigns using internal and external adtech in collaboration with internal teams (deployment, content, creative)
  • You operate with accountability and inspiration—a leader who designers and partners alike look up to as a trusted, reliable collaborator.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related design field (or applicable experience)

*Mailchimp currently offers flexible and remote options in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington. If you are unable to work from one of these registered locations, you will not be eligible for employment.

The minimum base salary for this role in Colorado is $168,000. For all other locations, base salary will vary by geographic market and will be determined through the selection and assessment process for this role relative to your experience and our job qualifications.
