MongoDB is establishing a new and exciting Strategist Accounts Marketing function to help drive significant business growth in our top accounts. Backed by senior leadership, your new team of marketers will activate against the most focused sales segment within the organization. This leader will drive the overarching success for this new but rapidly growing program.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The Head of Strategic Accounts Marketing will manage a team who have a deep understanding of a small set of assigned accounts, drive the marketing strategy and marketing programs that drive account expansion and accelerate existing opportunities. This team is results obsessed, and the Lead will use data to take these programs to the next level.   

You’ll work closely with the account-based marketing, partner marketing, customer marketing, demand generation and developer advocacy teams to ensure consistency and collaboration throughout the program. 

You are a highly strategic, results driven marketer, leveraging data to justify every decision and are a proven leader and an exceptional people manager.

The role will report into the Director of Field Marketing, within the Field Marketing organization.

Candidate Profile

Our ideal candidate for this role will have the following

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of account management/marketing experience in a software technology company
  • 5+ years of experience managing a strategic marketing team 
  • Deep functional expertise in at least two of the following functions: ABM, Field Marketing, Demand Generation
  • Ability to recruit, build, and inspire a new team
  • Experience working with Sales VPs
  • Experience working with large and complex enterprise accounts across multiple verticals, proven success record with deal acceleration  
  • Highly results-driven with strong analytical ability 
  • Experience working cross functionally with enterprise or corporate sales or customer success teams
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suite for Business
  • Familiarity with CRM, Marketing Automation and Data systems; Salesforce, 6sense, Eloqua and Tableau experience
  • Time management, prioritization, and organizational skills are key
  • Ability to shift priorities and help other team members as needed
  • B2B tech marketing / SaaS marketing experience preferred
  • Good humor and positive, can-do attitude is required

Position Expectations

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the AMER Pod Marketing team
  • In close collaboration with the ABM Center of Excellence, your team will establish robust marketing plans for each of your accounts and manage a significant marketing budget to meet the accounts business objective
  • Communicate and educate cross-functional leaders on success and program milestones  
  • Ensure performance and ROI are tracked, and support processes set up to effectively measure outcomes
  • Work closely with the xDR leaders to ensure account alignment and support
  • Support our flagship event, MongoDB World
  • Flexible working environment through at least September 2021 
  • When travel resumes, up to 30-50% travel to domestic markets

Success Measures

The Head of Strategic Accounts Marketing will be successful in this role when they can execute the following strategic tasks/responsibilities:

  • In 3 months, you will be actively recruiting, interviewing and hiring a team of pod marketing managers. You will have fostered a relationship with cross functional stakeholders across sales and marketing, and your manager to understand the marketing goals and objectives across the AMER POD accounts, understand how and where to review our marketing success metrics and begin to analyze regional campaign performance across the entire marketing funnel 
  • In 6 months, you will be actively recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding a team of pod marketing managers. You’ll have a clear understanding of your key objectives, have made recommendations on marketing programs and processes to accelerate growth opportunities, and have started to become a trusted partner to the field marketing team, ABM Center of Excellence, sales leaders and manager
  • In 12 months, your team of pod marketers will be fully onboarded. You and your team have fostered relationships across internal MongoDB teams and have developed both strategic and scalable ABM programs, leveraged data to make informed decisions to ensure tremendous ROI on field marketing executed programs, revamped process and enhanced communication across your team, maintained flawless documentation and reporting of all programs to demonstrate proven success, and have a stake in future programming

This role is remote optional until January 10, 2022, we are looking to speak to candidates who plan to be available in Austin, New York City and San Francisco office or remote for when we introduce our hybrid model.
