About the role
Robinhood is looking for an experienced Marketing Research leader to structure and lead a team of dedicated marketing researchers. You will work closely with our Marketing + Brand teams. Your scope will include providing direction to your team as well as optimizing cross-functional partnerships across our marketing, brand design, content, and product teams, as well as across our research teams (UX and marketing research). The role reports to the Head of Research and will be an integral part of the Research leadership team.
As a qualified candidate, you have a consistent track record of building and managing teams that deliver high-quality research with measurable business and value. When you see something that's a problem, you fix it. You thrive on fantastic partnerships, including articulating the vision of your team and its impact on the product. You care deeply about people, and are excited about investing in their growth and career development.
Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Building out your own team as we scale now and beyond
  • Ensuring your team is building the right portfolio of projects to optimize for both business goals and personal growth
  • Leading and representing your team effectively through improving cross-functional relationships - substantiating the work and the decisions behind them, and advocating for a customer-centered framing of problems
  • Managing, mentoring, and inspiring a team of marketing researchers (and eventually managers) as they develop their skills and engage in thoughtful research
  • Providing guidance on programs of research and/or individual studies, and setting expectations for quality and impact
  • Accelerating team efficiency by improving processes and workflows with the research team and cross-functional teams
  • Working closely with Marketing, Brand, and Research leadership

About you:

  • Demonstrated history in an applied research setting, and/or product research and development
  • Deep knowledge of and applied experience with marketing research methods and when to apply them
  • Solid understanding of statistics and the principles of experimental design
  • Can be an engaging partner to recruitment for recruiting, hiring, and retaining top research talent
  • Effectiveness in championing, growing, and upskilling researchers; demonstrated record of getting reports promoted
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as keen attention to detail
  • A high degree of self-awareness
  • Ability to think big and understand sophisticated problems, and to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment

We're looking for more growth-minded and collaborative people to be a part of our journey in democratizing finance for all. If you're ready to give 100% in helping us achieve our mission-we'd love to have you apply even if you feel unsure about whether you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Robinhood, we're looking for people invigorated by our mission, values, and drive to change the world, not just those who simply check off all the boxes.
