Meraki is looking for a Head of Marketing Planning & Analytics! The ideal candidate has a strong financial, marketing analytical, and planning background, and experience leading a team of marketing data analysts who provide critical reporting and analysis for our marketing leaders and adjacent teams. In this role, you will lead our strategic planning cycles, ensure continued optimization of our marketing budgets, and develop the framework to report on marketing performance and business impact.
This work entails building meaningful relationships with our Marketing, Sales, and Financial Planning & Analysis teams. From there, you will have the tools to be able to help executives and marketing management make data-driven decisions by providing a monthly and quarterly business review and explanations of key drivers of business performance.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the annual and quarterly Marketing planning process. Work in close partnership with Marketing leaders to deliver on a plan that supports company Sales objectives with optimal return on investment.
- Align planning, forecasting, and budgeting efforts with corporate objectives.
- Lead the resource allocation of Marketing programs and headcount budget, based on a robust investment framework.
- Handle top-down and bottom-up budget planning and identify incremental budget opportunities. Will have oversight and management of spend across the marketing organization; liaison between marketing and finance to ensure accuracy in reporting and expense recognition
- Lead our quarterly business review (QBR) and monthly business review (MBR) process
- Deliver a consistent and simple analytics framework that allows leadership to understand key performance metrics, trends headwinds, and tailwinds while guiding key decisions through the use of data and analytics.
- Prepare executive reports and contribute to recurring status updates, cross-functional presentations, and provide key inputs into recurring leadership updates.
- Manage, mentor, coach, motivate and recruit a team of impactful marketing analysts
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of analytics experience with 2+ years of management experience
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL
- Business consulting experience preferred
- High-level proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive preferred
- Extra brownie points for Asana experience
- MBA preferred
- Deep understanding of marketing attribution modeling, data requirements, and Martech/CRM infrastructure.
- Superb analytical acumen with the ability to assess, dissect, and synthesize data from multiple sources to scenario plan and optimize business growth
- Successful communicator with experience presenting to executive management and collaborating with multiple internal teams
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills to best present and shape the marketing impact and performance story
- Motivated, proactive self-starter able to work independently
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with a willingness to be hands-on and prescriptive
- Natural curiosity and a solutions-oriented approach that leads to proactively coming to the table with creative solutions
- Effective analytics management skills: you know how to prioritize the highest-impact work, and how to effectively mentor and empower a team of analysts
