As the Head of Consumer Insights for Owned Brands, you will oversee the insights and research work for the full portfolio of Owned Brands. Leading the small but mighty Consumer Insights team, you will be responsible for creating actionable consumer insights that will help craft both the short and long-term innovations for our brands. Your vision will help make clean, sustainable home & personal care the natural choice for households across North America. You will work with internal and external partners to help our Innovation, Marketing and Retail teams bring leading edge new brands and products to the market that are grounded in deep consumer insights as well as market trends.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Develop Deep Consumer Understanding: build a deep understanding of our Owned Brands’ consumers, their needs and jobs to be done to inform strategic brand positioning and brand fundamentals, product innovation roadmap, and key messaging for activation plans
  • Be the Voice of the Consumer: unapologetically represent the consumer and their needs to guide product innovation and business decisions, making sure there is a strong fit between our brands and products with market and consumer needs
  • Lead all aspects of Consumer Research: from recommending methodologies, identifying and collaborating with vendors, managing design and scope of research, to independently managing all aspects of testing including recruiting, data collection/fielding and the comprehensive reporting of actionable insights
  • Lead Claims Validation: Lead recommendations for and implementation of testing approaches for concept testing, claims development, and communication concepts that help overcome key consumer trial barriers
  • Input into Strategic Business Planning: Advise on key strategic issue development to be addressed in annual planning in partnership with leadership, innovation teams, marketing, and retail/sales
  • Lead Market & Trend Analysis: Lead synthesis and communication of market, retailer and consumer trends; ensure that relevant trends are acted upon in brand product and marketing strategies to stay at the leading edge of consumer and market trends 
  • Drive Category Understanding: Build, continuously update, and share knowledge and a deep understanding of sustainable CPG across the home, personal, and beauty care categories to inform brand, product, and channel strategies and future-proof the business in a increasingly competitive environment
  • Lead the consumer insights team: Lead and coach the members of the Consumer Insights team to help them grow and develop their professional skills and capabilities 

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a minimum of 8 years on experience in Consumer and Market Insights, with 6+ years of experience in the CPG industry
  • You are well-versed in research methodologies and experienced with various types of research partners and consumer insights resources
  • You possess analytical strength: ability to cut to the core of issues efficiently, merge multiple data sources and develop multiple solutions to complex business problems
  • You are comfortable in highly agile environments: making smart pivots in progress, adapting to needs on the fly in a fast paced, evolving environment
  • You are passionate about leaving a positive impact in the world.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and want to design the future of home and personal care. 
  • You’re excited about the challenge of managing many high priority projects at once
  • You are a team player and a strong collaborator

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills
