Medly is seeking a Head of Brand Marketing to lead the next phase of growth for our company which involves developing & leading our brand strategy for multiple audiences, across multiple core verticals (Rx and Retail). The ideal candidate will be a tech-savvy, growth-minded marketer capable of simplifying and communicating a clear value proposition to all of our consumers including: patients, providers (doctors) and omni-channel retail customers (both new & existing). Our vision is to seamlessly expand Medly’s digital pharmacy offering into a 360 degree health & wellness destination for consumers and patients alike, and make Medly a household name.


This is a highly collaborative and strategic role; you’ll develop strong partnerships across the organization while helping to define and scale the Medly brand. We seek an original thinker and expressive brand storyteller — someone who cares deeply about our providers, pharmacists, patients & health & wellness consumers and wants to drive better outcomes for all constituents in the healthcare ecosystem.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing & executing Medly’s end-to-end brand strategy
  • Developing core brand pillars which include look, feel, voice, and tone that is consistent across our pharmacy and retail businesses (Medly & Pharmaca)
  • Developing & communicating Medly’s core value proposition(s) across all audiences (patients, providers and omni-channel retail consumers)
  • Developing a messaging hierarchy that differentiates us from our competitors in the health-tech sector
  • Creating a consistent brand experience across all multiple marketing touch-points & channels
  • Define and execute ongoing consumer research into brand attributes, sentiment, and values
  • Designing our core digital products (app, website), packaging, marketing collateral, signage, digital assets, sales enablement materials, etc
  • Working with research & BI teams to drive audience segmentation and positioning with the goal of driving brand awareness across all of our audiences
  • Working with product marketing team to support all launches, and build campaigns to increase product and feature adoption
  • Utilizing research to understand how to appeal to different audiences, across different consumer journeys (eg a patient with a chronic diseases vs. a health and beauty enthusiast)
  • Constantly pushing the envelope in developing Medly’s brand and creative via product, advertising, content, and experiences
  • Leading and mentoring a 4-5 person all-star team of designers, creatives, and brand marketers; hire external agencies as needed
     

Metrics & Measurement:

  • Assess performance of A/B messaging & creative tests and make recommendations based on the data
  • Define and execute ongoing brand awareness tracking (by market)
  • Define goals & KPIs to support the ROI of brand spend


REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12+ years of progressive experience as a brand planner or strategist at a brand or creative agency, consultancy or internal brand-based team
  • 8+ years of demonstrated people leadership and experience coaching, growing and developing team members
  • 5+ years brand strategy leadership experience
  • Experience building and evolving brand strategies and architectures
  • Experience translating customer insights, ideas, and data into clear value propositions
  • Experience developing and establishing executive alignment
  • Experience working in cross functional and complex organizations, collaborating with teams such as Product, Retail, Pharmacy, Operations and Marketing counterparts
  • Experience simplifying complex information into consumer narratives, with storytelling prowess
  • Seamlessly straddle both design and brand (great UX & marketing ads)
  • Experience leading multiple projects through full strategic and creative development — research, strategy (why and how) and creative development
  • Love working at a strategic level, but are happy to roll up your sleeves when needed
  • Are excited to join a company with real startup culture
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities, while providing visibility into the workflow
  • Experience working in healthcare or health & wellness brands
  • Preference to be based in NYC or LA, but open to remote
