The role
The Lifecycle Marketing Group Manager (dedicated to SoFi’s ECI group) leads a team of LCM managers & specialists to drive marketing channel strategy, cross-functional alignment, and operational excellence in support of the SoFi At-Work, Protect, Lantern, Content, Member, and Relay businesses. He or she is a seasoned performance marketer with a demonstrated track record of success in email, SMS, mobile push, in-app/in-product, and other direct response marketing channels. The right candidate has experience analyzing current channel performance data, the latest business needs/objectives, data insights, and available resources, then creating and championing a clear, actionable strategic road map for his or her team.
The Lifecycle Marketing Group Manager is the senior strategic marketer in the group, leading from the front with his or her direct reports and representing the LCM team to senior leadership across the company. They engender trust & confidence through professional maturity, marketing competence, skilled planning & project management, and professional communication (written and verbal) with campaign stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
- Provide lifecycle marketing strategic thought leadership and campaign execution/optimization expertise to your direct reports
- Collaborate with business & marketing leaders to identify opportunities to drive product adoption, engagement, retention, and cross-sell/up-sell/referral behavior in LCM channels
- Own the quarterly LCM strategic planning process for your group, and drive bi-weekly sprint planning; continually prioritize planned LCM initiatives and allocate resources appropriately, proactively aligning with stakeholders to pivot when needed in order to hit KPI targets and/or better address business needs
- Champion a culture of accountability/ownership, continuous experimentation, operational excellence, as well as a healthy work-life balance on the LCM team
- As needed, assist LCM managers & specialists to segment audiences, configure and deploy campaigns in Braze, RedPoint, or Pardot
- Develop, enforce, and assist in campaign quality control practices to ensure processing completes in a timely manner and the output is accurate and complete
- Regularly report on campaign performance, test results/learnings, data insights, etc. to LCM & marketing leadership, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners
- Work closely with engineering/product, MarTech, and marketing analytics resources to 1) instrument front- and back-end data events 2) surface data to LCM tools for use in targeting & personalization 3) identify data-driven insights for template/messaging optimization, campaign targeting, and product adoption propensity experimentation
- Interview applicants & identify the top candidate to fill an open role on the team, as the need arises; onboard & train LCM new hires, and coach all junior team members to help them grow their strategic and technical skills
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience designing and executing data-driven marketing initiatives in the email channel, as well as other direct channels
- 3+ years of people management experience, able to provide positive references
- 2+ years of experience in ABM/B2B email marketing
- Experience with marketing campaign targeting/segmentation tools (e.g. Braze, RedPoint, Pardot, Unica, Aprimo, Alteryx, Adobe Campaign, etc.), automation strategy, and experimental design
- Proven track record of effective time/project management; ability to multitask & prioritize to ensure project deadlines are met, deliverables are provided on time
- Experience leveraging relational databases, real-time web & app event data in marketing campaigns; SQL statement writing experience a plus
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, experience presenting channel strategy and campaign results to cross-functional partners and executive leadership
Nice to have:
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Previous finance or tech industry experience
- Prior experience in Braze, Sparkpost, Datagrip, Athena, Amplitude, M-particle
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases, real-time event data, data structures, and querying language (e.g. select, merge, join, group by, etc).
- Familiarity with various data extraction/manipulation techniques such as select, filter, segment, merge-purge, joins, etc
