Employee Experience & Communications Manager-US Corporate Development

Description of Role

The Employee Experience & Communications Manager will join the US Corporate Development team and focus on integration planning and execution for acquisitions that Deloitte makes across multiple business areas. Deloitte plans and delivers transactions to support growth and development of the Firm's strategic priorities. US Corporate Development helps deliver the value of these transactions, working across teams to execute the planned operating model and transition the acquired employees. The focus of integration planning begins during diligence and continues to early stabilization post close. Focus on employees commonly extends several months post Day 1 to provide a smooth transition into Deloitte.

The purpose of this role is to manage and execute the change management and communications work threads across all stakeholders in the acquisition. This person will advise the business on strategies and approaches that are most relevant to the acquisition and will develop work plans and manage execution accordingly. The role is also responsible for supporting the Senior Manager with building upon best practices and updating strategies and approaches as acquisition priorities and targets evolve.

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Employee Experience & Communications.

What you'll do

Expectations of the role will be to:

  • Assess culture and future state operations to understand change implications that will inform the employee transition and communications
  • Follow the team's consistent approach to Change Management including culture and change assessments, employee experience plans, etc., and manage refinements to support continuous improvement with guidance as needed from the Senior Manager
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks such as culture risk, external leaks, expectation gaps, etc., escalating as required to the Senior Manager
  • Work with the business to propose and design key messaging and the overall Employee Experience approach, with guidance from the Senior Manager as needed
  • Drive a coordinated plan to communicate the acquisition internally and externally, including development and review of communications
  • Develop and/or review Employee Experience and Communication plans that are consistent with strategic rationale, the operating model, and the culture assessment, with guidance from Senior Manager as needed
  • Manage all activities required for delivery of key events such as Employee Announcement Events and Day One Onboarding
  • Support the Senior Manager with delivering continuity of change management and communications support to fully execute the plan, from diligence through post close stabilization
  • Manage quality of deliverables developed by the team
  • Utilize consistent best practices and make recommendations to Senior Manager for continuous improvements/refinements based on recent acquisitions
  • Serve as the team lead for the Senior Consultant on the Employee Experience & Communications team

Overview of Responsibilities

This person is a Manager in the Integration Management Office and will support the Senior Manager and provide guidance to team member(s) on the following activities for Deloitte acquisitions:

  • Conducting Target cultural assessment and anticipated change implications as transitioned employees (and Deloitte employees) move to the new operating model
  • Developing baseline change management plan with Business Sponsors and Target leaders
  • Conducting stakeholder analysis and develops a communications plan that addresses internal and external stakeholders
  • Working with leaders to develop key messaging and prepare for key events/deliverables

Producing progress reports on benchmarks, conducting feedback surveys, and developing risk mitigation plans

Qualifications

What you'll bring - Requirements and Experience

  • Experienced Manager with a background in organizational and workforce management
  • Experience with Stakeholder Management and Communications, Change Management and Transformation, Leadership Alignment and Communications, and Project Management
  • Core competencies in developing employee transformation and change management, communications planning, writing, and project management
  • Strong writing and presentations skills with ability to translate vision and strategies into key messaging
  • Analytical ability to develop surveys and other feedback/interview tools and extrapolate results
  • Track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams and business leaders
  • High quality deliverable production
  • Willingness to be flexible in assignments and projects to support US Corporate Development success
  • Results oriented, able to work independently and manage a team in a fast-paced primarily virtual environment, while balancing support of multiple projects
  • Previous Consulting experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Deloitte and exposure to M&A is preferred, but not required
  • Limited travel expected
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $86,425-$159,165
