Job Summary

The Marketing Strategist, Acquisition or ECM is responsible for delivering best in class, branded marketing and loyalty strategies and program execution across multiple portfolios and channels leveraging data-driven insights and vertical expertise to drive profitable campaigns that deliver value for our cardmembers, brand partners and our organization. This position works with their leader to develop marketing strategy and independently coordinates execution of acquisition or ECM marketing activities that drive strong, sustainable, mutually beneficial growth in New Accounts, Accounts Receivable, Credit Sales and Profit. Supports Marketing decisions and strategies. The Marketing Strategist, Acquisition or ECM establishes vertical and product knowledge to optimize the overall program marketing planning across verticals and channels.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

Marketing Planning – Key contributor of expertise building Acquisition or ECM marketing plans (monthly, quarterly, and annual) relevant to specific vertical and/or product set, optimizing program performance and delivering on strategic plans to achieve/exceed specific campaign KPIs. Supports Manager in assessing the needs of the campaigns, addressing areas of opportunity and developing strategic initiatives that can be applied across all campaigns. Works independently to contribute new program and idea generation to enhance marketing strategies. Manages marketing programs that deliver value and work toward successfully meeting goals. Works with cross-functional partners as needed, creates and coordinates meeting agendas, and follows up on meeting next steps. Reports out on results and performance measurements to ensure goals and targets are being met. Independently manages invoices and expense reconciliation for marketing related initiatives and maintains budget tracker.

Marketing Standards & KPIs – Coordinates and documents industry benchmarks, competitive intelligence, and prior test results from internal and external sources to inform campaign planning and improve the results of marketing campaigns. Contributes to presentation of campaign results for the Business Intelligence Review, including review of various resources, articles, trends, or discussions relevant to the credit cards/payments industry. Stays up to date on knowledge of the assigned verticals, products, and channels.

Campaign Performance - Accountable for investigating and providing cost and revenue information to ensure alignment on marketing investment decisions. Coordinates with internal partners and brand partners to obtain all necessary requirements to complete a campaign analysis. Partners with Senior Partnership Marketing Manager to review results and formulate strategic plan based on findings. Works within matrixed organization to gather and document information needed to optimize marketing performance supporting GMs’ P&L, maximizing return on investment, and portfolio KPIs. Develops communication materials to inform and influence organization on marketing strategies. Documents and communicates campaign performance that inform strategic decisions that will influence campaign planning.

Marketing Execution – Leads internal and external campaign execution responsibility. External responsibilities will vary dependent on product. Partners closely with cross-disciplinary team to execute and test various marketing campaigns. Accountable for independently monitoring program timelines to ensure campaigns are executed on time and flawlessly. Oversees teams’ implementation of necessary legal, compliance and ERM practices and/or documentation to remove barriers to execution and mitigate regulatory concerns. Internal responsibilities may include reviewing marketing collateral to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements as well as to ensure campaigns meet marketing objectives, completing and handing off program strategy brief, participating in stakeholder meetings, entering requests for analysis, prioritizing results analysis, and attending inventory management meetings. Contributes to enterprise wide initiatives. Identifies and works to continually implement process improvements. Manages the establishment of documentation and revisions to the Marketing Calendar. Must possess strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple campaigns at once, coordinate across matrix organization, as well as external partners.

Compliance - Acts as first line of defense, overseeing adherence to bank compliance standards related to capabilities and omni-channel marketing materials.

Talent Development - Provides peer to peer feedback, and participates in personal mentoring opportunities for learning and development. Is receptive and open to feedback to further one's own professional development. Demonstrates leadership by training of peers and being viewed as a knowledge resource.

Reports to: Senior Manager or Above

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: General Office Setting, some travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications:

Four years Marketing, Finance, Project Management, Advertising, Communication, Business Management or related experience

Preferred Experience:

Bachelor’s degree Marketing, Finance or related field

Four years or more experience in Marketing, Marketing Analysis, Marketing Services; Experience in building marketing plans and strategies for credit cards/payments.
