The newly formed VMware Cross-Cloud Solutions Marketing team is responsible for driving awareness and market leadership for the VMware Cross-Cloud Services portfolio.The team's charter includes the following key areas: Thought Leadership and Awareness, Go-to-Market (GTM), Global Customer Marketing, Industry Marketing and Customer Insights. This team sits at the center of corporate marketing and is leading the charge to propel VMware into the third leg of its journey to become the leader of the multi-cloud market, working alongside our customers, corporate go-to-market and planning teams, product marketing, sales, and partner teams, as well as the global field marketing organization.

Your primary focus as a Director of Solutions Marketing, will be creating compelling messaging and content, empowering our field and partners to have a business outcome led sales discussion with their customers aligned to our strategic goals. In addition, you will also be responsible to drive and deliver campaign content supporting the field and partners with air cover and market awareness for our new strategic sales play system.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
  • The primary objective of this position is to lead the creation of messaging, sales enablement content and campaign content aligned to our strategic sales plays. To be successful, you must understand multi-cloud and modern app products and solution strategies to build content for key personas such as CIOs, VP of Infrastructure /Operations and VP of Cloud.

  • You will own the messaging, content strategy plan and sales enablement across our Cloud Transformation strategic play and be accountable for quarterly delivery of content and materials to support our strategy such as, eBooks, customer presentations, whitepapers, third party research, infographics etc.
  • Keep up on the latest trends, market research and customer pain points related to cloud adoption and modern applications

  • Seek new and innovative methods for displaying content and amplifying key messages through the demand program teams

  • You will need to collaborate and orchestrate with executives, business group leaders as internal stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to transform cross solutions details into engaging content for the respective communities.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
  • Minimal travel required and meeting with key stakeholders can be done remotely
  • 15+ years' experience in a marketing role focused on content strategy with strong background in security, cloud and modern applications
  • Be a good storyteller that can connect compelling, thought-provoking stories to customer and/or industry challenges
  • Strong ability to translate complex concepts and technical features into customer benefits at different stages in the customer buying journey
  • Creative, strategic, organized, and reliable for producing compelling content
  • Displays accountability for bothindividually contributedelements of a program as well as the program at large; possesses strong project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree
