Director of Product, Performance Marketing
About Your Role:
Dotdash Meredith is looking for a Director of Product, Performance Marketing, who will drive vision and strategy for our performance marketing platform that spans across more than 40 brands that reach more than 200 million users each month. You'll work with a cross-disciplinary scrum team to help our users find answers, solve problems, and get inspired across DDM's portfolio of award-winning brands.
You'll partner with senior leaders for each brand and category, editorial teams, design and engineering teams, and other relevant stakeholders to develop and execute a robust product strategy that leverages our unique capabilities: evergreen content, SEO expertise, data science, beautiful design, and respectful monetization. You'll focus on performance marketing, helping our users solve complex problems by recommending best-in-class products and services via a monetization strategy that focuses on conversion. You will own strategy and execution for the Paid Media, Conversion Rate Optimization (Growth), and Performance Marketing direct response ad product tech squads. Adjacently, a peer in your group will lead Platform and/or "Core" product development that scales front-end wins across the Performance Marketing universe. You'll report to the Senior Director, Product for Performance Marketing.
About Your Contributions:
- Set strategy for and drive business KPIs including session engagement, conversion, and qualitative user preference versus competitors
- Review your product roadmap and strategy with the senior management team, GMs, editors, and the CEO
- Congratulate the scrum team on the release of an awesome new feature
- A/B test optimizations to funnels, quizzes, quoting tools, lead forms, and rate tables
- Analyze user segments, the user flow, and define products that help deepen user engagement
- Collaborate with the affiliate partnerships team to understand where we can add value for brand partners and grow session monetization through things like tasteful advertorial products and features
- Watch a person using the site, observing what's working and what's not
- Work with the data team to improve how we store and utilize data to improve user experience and monetization
- Partner with the Performance Marketing Platform Product team to improve how we effectively scale winning experiences out across our universe via internal tools and templating
- Coordinate with fellow product managers on the sequence of a cross-team project
- Act as a subject matter expert for conversion-oriented user experience playbooks across Dotdash Meredith as the organization builds these muscles
- Host a call for discovery and negotiation with a vendor
- Walk an engineer and a designer through some product requirements
- Teach the content team how to use a new feature
- Synthesize various pieces of user feedback into tangible features and products
- Mentor and coach product managers on your team
About You:
- 8+ years of hands-on product management-strategy, analysis, roadmap ownership, and day-to-day product ideation-across multiple functional areas
- You're a builder, with experience launching both front-end, user-facing tools, along with deep, intricate platforms
- You're capable of developing a big-picture product strategy for meeting user and business needs, selling it to senior leadership, and then working out the details to get the plan over the finish line
- You have several years of experience with an affiliate model or performance marketing, driving sales/conversions
- You've ideally got deep experience on optimizing customer acquisition for an online publisher, e-commerce site, or app
- You've managed product managers, and have a passion for guiding direct reports along their career path and setting your team up for success
- You have deep knowledge of what makes for great user experience because you've done this before, e.g. experience at a premium, digital publisher, retailer or brand
- You have a passion for figuring out user problems and pain points
- You're able to juggle the needs of multiple audience segments and develop strategic product plans for each of them
- You're excellent at communicating and collaborating with a wide range of teams and stakeholders to build great products
- You possess an innate desire to collect, synthesize, and analyze data to inform your strategy
- You're fluent in Agile principles and methodology, and not afraid to jump in as the product owner or scrum master for a team
