Why We Need You:

As a Director, Marketing & Brand, you are responsible for bringing innovation to the PEMCO Marketing & Communications team, growing revenue through marketing, driving activities that bring the PEMCO brand to life, and delivering communications that drive both internal and external engagement. The role reports to the Chief People & Brand Officer who serves as the top marketing and communications leader in the company.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • In partnership with the Chief People & Brand Officer, develop performance marketing and brand management strategies across all channels that ensure and deliver at the highest standards of craft and storytelling
  • Develop, implement, optimize, and refine annual marketing and communications plans for PEMCO's core audiences, in collaboration with senior leadership and the Marketing & Communications team
  • Oversee a team of marketing and communications professionals focused on developing and implementing brand campaigns, product promotions, creative assets, and internal and external content that deepen understanding and drive demand generation and pipeline performance - creating and nurturing prospects from exposure to purchase of PEMCO policies
  • Manage and mentor marketing and communications team members, motivating and measuring performance and coaching and supporting skills and career development
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders across the enterprise to design and execute an integrated marketing and sales experience that drives customer acquisition, retention, traffic, and sales performance
  • Guide direct marketing technology utilization and performance including data management platform (DMP), content management systems (CMS), and CRM systems to further the goals of the organization.
  • Oversee relationships with marketing agency partners and vendors, ensuring effective communication; collaboration; content development; and delivery against strategic objectives and outcomes
  • Execute on strategy with precision through establishing effective teams and leading others in analyzing and solving complex problems
  • Develop and manage department budget and resources responsibly
  • Ensure return on investment with communications and marketing initiatives through a rigorous measurement and attribution strategy
  • Role model behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics, and business conduct
  • Authentically support the PEMCO Brand
  • Other duties as assigned


What You'll Bring:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Marketing, Business or equivalent field) is required
  • Experience overseeing agencies, creative and media budgets, marketing technology, and campaign measurement is required
  • 10-15 years of experience in developing and executing large-scale, multi-channel brand campaigns is required
  • Experience partnering and collaborating cross-functionally with IT, Sales, Customer Service, and others, ensuring an optimal end-to-end customer experience is required
  • Experience leading and developing cross-functional marketing and communications teams is required
  • Experience working in a growth-and-innovation-focused environment
  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in MS Office is required
  • Leadership & Managing Others: Establishes and communicates a compelling and inspiring vision, creates winning strategies and plans, ensures team goals are aligned with company goals, develops both self and others are required
  • Team Builder: Establishes positive connections with others, solves problems and manages new ideas, and works collaboratively to bring people and culture-first solutions to deliver results is required
  • Communicator: Communicates clearly and informatively, verbally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and the community in both technical and non-technical professional language is required
  • Project Management: Has a proven track record of driving and motivating cross-functional team members to successfully implement technology or business projects is required
  • Business Environment: Has a thorough understanding of our industry, the relevant business landscape, and trends in growth and insurance environments; can spot early indicators of change and apply strategies to adapt quickly is required
  • Organizational Savvy: Interfaces cross-functionally with both technical depth and business savvy. Understands company goals and objectives; thinks critically about business challenges and resolutions. Demonstrates keen listening and observation skills to spot and bring to life the little things that make the organization unique is required
