The Opportunity

The Marketing Analytics Director is a newly created position within the Ally marketing team reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing Analytics. As Ally continues our Digital Transformation, we are placing a critical focus on expanding our world-class, data-driven marketing team. This role will play a critical part in measuring the full impact of Ally's marketing efforts, understanding the complete path to conversion and how to best measure each step, build out holistic KPI Framework, and attribution at an enterprise level across all business lines.

The Work Itself
• Leverage quantitative techniques to bring Media Mix Modeling process in-house
• Develop subject matter expertise in all sources of marketing measurement data: digital channels, organic social trends, awareness trends, site activity, etc.
• Participate in the development of KPIs to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Ally marketing spend across all channels
• Work closely with various data owners across business lines to create a fluid ecosystem of business and marketing metrics updated at the speed of now.
• Develop measurement approaches for online and offline channels, seeking appropriate sources and linkages.
• Develop insights and trends by hands-on data analysis. Always asking the question of "How to make performance stronger". Will work with cross-functional teams to advise on measurement (LOB Leads; channels like Social, Content, Paid Search)
• Collaborate closely with site personalization teams to evolve marketing metrics to full journey level reporting by audience segments , offers, and creative
• Prepare and present executive level reports showing marketing performance and trends over time, across all channels.

The Skills You Bring

Type of prior related experience:
• 7+ years experience in advanced analytics, media mix modeling, marketing metrics, statistics, with comfort in query languages like SQL.
• Clear understanding of conversion funnel metrics, analytics and levers for marketing success
• Hands-on experience building marketing measurement models
• Bachelors degree in Analytics/Statistics, Marketing or other related field
• Experience in marketing analytics at a marketing agency or client-side marketing team

Special skills/abilities/competencies required:
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Proven ability to solve problems with data and improve business outcomes
  • Familiarity and understanding of paid media metrics (social/search/display/etc.)
  • Experience working across multiple teams to get the job done
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of an organization
  • Project and team management
  • Self-starter with inquisitive nature
  • Creative Problem Solver
