An Insider's view of Stavvy

What's something quirky about your company?

Since the start, there’s been a debate for our unofficial mascot: Platypus or Duck. Any mention of an old error page with an ascii duck drawing saying “Aw duck, something went wrong!” brings humorous discussion. The debate rages on, with the team sneaking duck (or platypus!) references whenever we can, especially during our bi-weekly internal demos

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

We’re digitizing an industry that has mainly been paper and in person. The largest problem we face is translating the physical analogs to the digital counterpart. How do we verify signatures? How do we authenticate you as a person? Things we take for granted in real life interactions require thought and careful diligence in the digital space.

Will Ung

Principal Engineer

What makes someone successful on your team?

We define success slightly differently by role, but there are overarching shared qualities. In terms of functioning day-to-day, the following come to mind: the ability to communicate honestly yet with diplomacy, the ability to be vulnerable and receive feedback as well as give it, and the ability to prioritize tasks and juggle multiple projects.

Alex Zajaczkowski

Product Manager

What is your vision for the company?

To build one of the most admired and respected cultures that fosters curiosity, bravery and innovation.

Kosta Ligris

Co-Founder

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

I collaborate with other teams in the company on a daily basis. I personally work closely with hiring managers and provide them with market insights and strategize on how we can build a strong, unified organization. I see this sort of cross-functional collaboration constantly: people pulling in others to strategically solve problems.
