Dave is looking for a proactive, bold and collaborative Director, Corporate Communications & PR. You’ll develop and drive a comprehensive and expansive communications strategy, to build engaging narratives that will highlight and advance Dave’s Mission, products & service, and leadership in support of its members. The ideal candidate will have experience driving measurable results in a fast-paced environment and ensure that Dave’s story is properly positioned, amplified and valued in the eyes of our members, the media, investors, and other industry stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

  • CONSUMER PR 
  • Develop, lead, and oversee all consumer PR efforts and campaigns
  • Create a consumer focused public relations strategy and calendar to drive media coverage of the Dave brand year round, and build awareness of the role that our core product can/should play in the consumer finance toolkit
  • Maximize brand partnership opportunities to drive local and national media coverage 
  • Build a content calendar using partnerships, events and surveys, that enables Dave to be regularly in the headlines, driving coverage around spending trends and habits in our core “Zillenial” demographic
  • In partnership with our content, CRO and CRM teams, develop editorial content for the Dave.com domain to provide value to our member base, drive engagement and power SEO ranking
  • Build out a proactive comms and stakeholder engagement strategy to build an understanding of Dave’s unique approach to disrupting the short term credit industry among the consumer advocacy audience through media relations and community engagement
  • Own, develop, communicate and maintain community engagement initiatives in key local markets that clearly demonstrate Dave’s commitment to driving financial progress among our core member demographics

  • CORPORATE PR
  • Prepare and present publicity a corporate communications strategy to Dave’s Executive team and implement best practices to obtain favorable coverage and maximum effectiveness
  • Further enhance and support Dave’s Executive team as Fin-tech thought leaders by identifying and securing appropriate media engagements, preparing company representatives for interviews, appearances, and special events
  • Create press releases, media advisories, speeches, and external communications in support of Dave’s products and business
  • Own development of messaging and relationships with media and relevant stakeholders
  • Lead multiple agency partners overseeing external communications including media relations, crisis communications and supporting investor relations 
  • Prioritize hiring, developing and managing a high performing and engaged team that is connected to our company mission; with a commitment to inclusivity, diversity and employee engagement
  • Partner with internal teams to tell a compelling corporate narrative that will help to attract world-class talent - in addition to world-class partnerships, investors and members

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years of related experience in PR/corporate communications, social media with experience in both agency and corporate environments 
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective consumer storytelling strategies, including brand journey, culture, value proposition and creative content
  • Ability to quickly gain expert fluency on all aspects of Dave’s business activities and priorities
  • Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write compellingly for a wide range of audiences and needs, such as scripts, keynotes, press materials, and social media channels
  • Self-motivated and independent, with excellent prioritization, project management and critical thinking skills, a strong sense of focus, organization, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to run and deliver results on large-scale, complex projects under tight deadlines through rigorous planning and ruthless prioritization
