As the Director of Communications, you will report to the Chief People Officer and:

  • Work with the CEO of Earnest to create compelling messaging for speeches, blogs, presentations, podcasts, and more
  • Work to craft new approaches to company communications and developing feedback loops and to really define the voice of Earnest
  • Work externally with our PR agency to set up speaking events and more for our CEO
  • Partner with the CEO and COO to write business updates
  • Contribute to promoting Earnest as an employer of choice by helping to establish our talent branding efforts
  • Create or iterate on an internal communications strategy to help ensure we are building effective employee and executive communications channels with the right message in the right place at the right time.
  • Manage the strategy, calendar, format and delivery of the companywide All Hands and other company wide communication events.
  • Work with the Earnest executive team to develop leadership communications for significant changes including org structures and other business changes.
  • Help lead the development and execution of a strategy for responding to crisis situations internally
  • Develop new, interesting, creative, and compelling ways to engage and educate regarding the actions the company has taken against areas of opportunity. Keep communications fresh, creative, and engaging; regularly develop and explore new ideas, strategies, and tactics

Experiences you will bring with you: 

  • 8+ years in communications, public relations, and/or brand marketing
  • 5+ years experience communicating to an employee population (over 100 people) within the tech community
  • 2+ years experience leading internal communications in a remote environment
  • Ability to lead and complete multiple projects on deadline. These projects could span a single team, a multi-team organization or the entire company.
