Job Summary

SEE is currently looking for a Director of Communications for the Americas to lead communications for the Americas region. This leader will work across geographies and markets in the Americas region to manage and strengthen Sealed Air's reputation and sustain a consistent voice and brand in every part of the region. This role is an important part of promoting SEE's position.

Reporting directly to the VP, Global Communications & Brand, this leader is part of SEE's Global Communications and Brand Leadership Team. The position also has a dotted reporting line into the President, Americas Region, and serve as a key member of the Americas Leadership team. In this capacity, he or she will provide communications guidance and support on strategic and transformational efforts at SEE with a special focus on digital, automation, sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and protect SEE's reputation and brand across the Americas-in partnership with corporate and global communicators.
  • Serve as primary communications advisor and lead to the Americas President-supporting executive visibility opportunities, engagements and communications.
  • Partner with these central teams to ensure the region is fully benefiting from these support mechanisms, channels and expertise.
  • Work closely with the head of internal communications to drive the most effective communications strategy and channels to reach every employee and site in the region.
  • Write and edit content and stories highlighting talent, innovations and progress in the Americas region. Further, surface stories in region that help shape global brand and reputation strategy.
  • Provide communications and PR advice and for major growth initiatives and product launch campaigns and announcements-connecting regional teams back to corporate and media relations resources as needed.
  • Educate teams in the regions on SEE's communications and brand guidelines, best practices to ensure consistent narrative both internally and externally.
  • Provide advice to the business and region and manage critical reputation issues and crisis communications.
  • Support M&A communications requirements and external corporate communications to customers as needed.
  • Lead community investment strategy for the Americas region, in alignment with global strategy; including gaining regional stakeholder feedback to support grant recommendations and activating stakeholders at the local and site level.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and master's degree preferred in journalism, public relations, communications and/or marketing.
  • 10+ years demonstrated experience as a communications, stakeholder relations, public affairs or corporate affairs lead supporting a global brand or company.
  • Inspiring and innovative storyteller with deep expertise in writing and content creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive, long-term relationships with media and opinion leaders.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience communicating to and working with senior executives to provide strategic counsel, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas, successfully manage differing points of view and strengthen relationships and rapport.
  • Flexible and adaptable and thrives working in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Spanish or more than one language in addition to English
  • Experience in the packaging, consumer goods/retail or food industries
