What will you do?

Sealed has built a one-of-a-kind, direct-to-consumer brand that’s ready for a skilled Brand and Creative professional to evolve and elevate. The products we offer are a high consideration and infrequent purchase and we’re expanding from the tri-state area into new states and regions within the USA that have different value propositions. As the company seeks to ramp up growth, we’re looking for an outstanding storyteller to lead our creative team and take our brand to the next level.

This is an opportunity to apply your artistry at a company that is creating tangible positive impact for people and the planet. 

Reporting to the VP of Marketing and working closely with the other parts of the Marketing org (Growth, Product Marketing, Partnerships, primarily) along with the Product and People teams, you will build upon our brand foundation and historical learnings about the narratives and visuals that resonate with our audiences, and expand our brand to where it needs to go. You will lead our existing creative team and build the team out further as we grow. Additional opportunities may include:

  • Evolve the Sealed brand and creative guidelines - collaborate across the company to update our brand and narrative as we expand into new categories and geographies
  • Imagine new approaches to telling our unique story across multiple mediums, translating your vision into clear creative direction for our team and partners
  • Work with your colleagues to leverage data-backed insights to guide creative strategy
  • Create memorable advertising that cuts through the noise: you’ll oversee all stages of copywriting and visual design from concepting through production for a variety of advertising channels: e-mail, snail mail, social media, and television
  • Lead, guide, and support our talented creative team (boutique agency design team, two contract copywriters, two video agency partners, growth creative agency), and build the internal and external team to ensure we are resourced to keep up with our team and audience’s insatiable demand for ever-fresh ideas and content
  • 6+ years experience in brand ownership and creative direction, ideally in-house or a combination of in-house and agency
  • Experience telling the story of a non-physical product or intangible value propositions. We don’t have a single product or service, but are selling a combination of a service and quality of life improvement
  • Able to drive decisions from data insights and understands how to measure impact
  • Experience and motivation to mentor and coach creative teams
  • Ability to strategically define and evolve brand positioning nationally and regionally as we expand into new markets
  • Capable to run brand campaigns from end-to-end (consumer insights, brief writing, etc. through ROI measurement)
  • Excellent writing skills, both long and short form
  • A sharp eye for visual aesthetics and storytelling
  • Experience ideating and producing creative content for a business with a complex, unusual product
  • Fluency with digital advertising creative in a direct-to-consumer context

  • You have a mind brimming with crazy ideas and imagination - you can make even the most boring things feel sexy and fun 
  • If you’re a writer, you have an eye for style: you don’t have to be Da Vinci, but you must think like a designer, be able to communicate visually, and know what good looks like
  • If you’re a designer, you are a poet, too: you don’t have to be Emerson, but you should be able to edit and vet copy
  • You can do it all: ads, experiential, digital, you name it
  • A true empath with high EQ, you can relate to people and tell stories in a way that could make them cry from humor or sentimentality
  • Detail oriented and organized planner and manager, with the ability to manage people in all directions
  • Hardworking, resourceful and gritty: you don’t mind getting your hands dirty. When you have a goal, you find a way to meet it
  • Comfortable asking hard questions to get to the root of a challenge, and finding unusual solutions
  • You have an existing network of talented people and agencies you can’t wait to add to our extended creative team
  • You can’t stand waste. Whether it’s energy waste, or wasted time, transforming waste to value is in your DNA

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Our office environment encourages collaboration and team building between departments and individuals. Sealed promotes healthy living in and out of the office with yoga classes, work out clubs and going to the bar! We also have plenty of office dogs to go around!

I try and create opportunities to have both casual and meaningful interactions with the rest of the team. During on-boarding, I give a presentation to all new Sealed members giving the history of the company and the potential we have to make a large energy and environmental impact.
