Job Description The Direct Mail Delivery Print Manager is responsible for managing supplier resources for print, personalization, lettershop & logistics for timely completion of direct mail campaigns and print collateral projects. Provide guidelines for development of materials that meet cost and budgetary goals, manufacturing and postal requirements. Includes management of direct mail on-going run the engine campaigns, Ad-Hoc mailings, and collateral pieces. Individual will provide subject matter expertise and will interface with the Marketing Colleagues, External Suppliers, Internal and External Creative Agencies.
Responsibilities include; resolution of issues and overall production project/campaign management from concept to the mail, metrics reporting, extensive cost reporting, assists in developing process improvement initiatives, and cost saving initiatives.
Core responsibilities include:

  • Effectively manage external vendors in multiple locations in all aspects of print and direct mail production.
  • Assemble, review and disseminate supplier instructions and assignments.
  • Oversee printing and direct mail production schedules effectively meet and surpass business expectations.
  • Competitively bid projects and provide expense forecasts to stakeholders
  • Provide recommendations to the business for instituting cost savings initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders to improve production or cost efficiency.
  • Manage to or below cost thresholds.
  • Inventory monitoring, reduction and management.
  • Accurately monitor and manage associated costs, data collection, reporting and closeouts.
  • Research and resolve issues.
  • Ensure process adherence & drive process improvement.
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving.
  • Limit and manage risk to the firm and stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage and own the DMD production space, escalate issue when appropriate.


Qualifications
College degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 or more years of direct mail production, print procurement, or related experience required.
  • Knowledge of direct mail production, offset and digital printing, lettershop & imaging technology, data processing, postal requirements and related industry standards is required.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • A strong team player capable of partnering across lines of business.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be a solutions oriented partner.
  • Be an agent of change, capable of modifying and adapting to a changing work environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
