About Us:

At RudderStack, we are redefining enterprise-scale data collection and routing. We are building a customer data platform (CDP) on the customer's own data warehouse. Our open-source, developer-first approach is the first of its kind. We understand the outsized impact customer data has on businesses, and we understand the challenges and pain points. We are looking to solve the customer data management problem in enterprises, once and for all, in a secure, compliant and cost-effective way.

RudderStack collects data from 30+ sources, can transform events on the fly, and routes to 150 different marketing, sales, product, analytics applications all with one snippet of code.

We’re backed by Insight Partners, Kleiner Perkins and S28 and have raised a total of $82 million in funding. Our customers include Stripe, Crate + Barrel, Acorns, Hinge, and Priceline. We process critical customer data for some top companies around the world, and are looking for ambitious individuals to join our team and help shape the future of our product.

About the The Role:

If you’ve played a key role in scaling digital marketing at a startup through major phases of growth, keep reading. Our smart, fast-moving team is looking for a leader with expertise in both leading a team and executing on large-scale, complex paid and SEO initiatives in the B2B SaaS space.

The marketing team at RudderStack is responsible for building the funnel, from awareness to driving qualified MQLs and ultimately pipeline (our key KPI).

We believe growth is both art and science: art because we want to think creatively about strategy and tactics, and science because, at the end of the day, building the funnel is a math problem (awareness → traffic → conversion → pipeline) that should run as an experiment-driven feedback loop.

We have built a very strong foundation of inbound traffic and leads, but it’s time to significantly scale our paid and SEO channels. We have sharp talent in place to help make this happen, but we need you to come in and lead the charge.

We won’t be shy about the difficulty of this challenge: our personas, data engineers and developers, are resistant to marketing, skeptical and generally behave in a way that produces a non-linear customer journey, defying traditional attribution tracking. (We’re working on some pretty cool solutions for this. )

Here's a bit more about the Team.

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, let’s chat!

*Our roles are remote first, and can be based anywhere in the US (#LI-Remote).

What you'll do:

  • Drive paid and SEO strategy, especially in regards to how we maintain funnel throughput as we scale
  • Lead and work alongside a team of 2 (paid, SEO) to execute the strategy
  • Own a significant paid marketing budget
  • Create attribution models that enable as much clarity as possible on what’s working, what’s not and where we need to invest to sustainably scale qualified traffic and conversions (in collaboration with our revenue operations and analytics team)
  • Build and execute a framework for high-velocity, measurable testing for both traffic and conversions that produce an increase in marketing-generated pipeline
  • Present key learnings weekly, monthly and quarterly to leadership

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • 5-8 years experience in digital marketing/demand generation, ideally with a technical/developer audience focus and experience in B2B SaaS
  • Experience scaling digital marketing/demand generation programs (paid and SEO specifically) from early stage (seed/Series A/B) to later stage (Series C/D)
  • Proven ability to deliver down-funnel results (marketing generated pipeline)
  • Proven ability to think mathematically about awareness-based marketing efforts
  • Desire to understand the technology of RudderStack and learn about the ecosystem of adjacent technologies
  • Ability to work with a fast-moving, fast-changing marketing team
  • A bias for action and initiative—you will be expected to jump in and provide value

Extra Notes:

If your experience isn't a perfect match for the job description, but you're still a good fit for the role, apply. We want to work with smart people who are good at their job, and, a lot of times, those people have non-linear career paths.

The RudderStack Way:

You get a chance to work on challenging problems alongside amazing people as we scale RudderStack. We are meaningful and thoughtful about our hiring, and want to build great teams together. We expect everyone to be deeply involved with hiring, so you have a hand in helping build the team. We have a global mindset, and want to bring on the best talent regardless of location. The company is still in the early stages, and you will get to see the complete lifecycle of a startup, from getting the initial customers to raising funding rounds, and beyond. Those who thrive in this sort of dynamic environment will experience extraordinary career growth.

Our benefits include, comprehensive health insurance, work from home office setup reimbursements, learning stipends, "take as you need" vacation policy, flexible work hours, remote first culture, team lunches, events and more!

We are committed to providing equal employment opportunity for all people and place great value in both diversity and inclusiveness.  All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to their, or any other person's, perceived or actual race, color, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, family care status, or any other basis protected by law.
