Defense Strategic Communications and Technical Writing Expert
The Challenge:

Support a range of communications from strategic communications planning to execution, including planning and facilitation of technical workshops, workforce brown bags, town halls, and other events, developing marketing campaigns for those events, and leading other client communications initiatives, including large-scale outreach campaigns to engage the technical stakeholders and drive acceptance of client policies. Draft and edit a variety of communications materials and products, including policy documents, talking points, leadership communications, marketing copy, newsletter content, and web site content. Work independently and contribute to the team in a collaborative, creative environment.

This position requires a versatile and broad skill set, including experience with Defense and US Government internal and external communications and media, including professional briefings, emails, web announcements, reports, policy documents, conference presentations, and even limited speech writing to help clients and our team deliver the right messages. We also contribute to DoD policy analysis and writing of new policies in our areas of expertise, so DoD or US Government policy writing experience is a must. The ability and experience working independently, taking documents, briefings, and other materials all the way through to client-ready completion without substantial oversight is essential. You Have:

• 5+ years of experience with strategic communications
• Experience working communications for US Government and Defense clients
• Experience with Government consulting
• Experience with writing, graphics, PowerPoint presentations, and Microsoft Word
• Ability to work with senior leaders, respond to changing priorities, and adapt writing style to meet the needs of audiences at various levels
• Ability to be professional and show enthusiasm for client and teammate collaboration
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's Degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with communications for DoD Research and Development Programs
• Experience with graphics design tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, Publisher, and similar
• Experience with Marketing and Awareness campaigns for Defense clients
• Experience with the areas of Supply Chain, Microelectronics, Anti-Tamper, and Additive Manufacturing
• Experience providing communications to Senior DoD officials and leaders
• Experience writing DoD Instructions and other policy documents
• Master's Degree
