The Role:

As a Marketing-focused Data Analyst, you will serve as a strategic partner to Newsela’s Marketing team. You will apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation to see beyond the numbers and understand how Marketing programs are performing in the market and provide insights to maximize impact and effectiveness. You will partner closely with Marketers to define, measure, and report on core Marketing KPIs to support demand and corporate marketing efforts. In your day-to-day you will also collaborate with Data, Product, and Customer team members to develop reports and visualization dashboards, understand collection and content goals, define metrics of engagement, and deliver insights and reporting to understand and optimize performance.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing Operations, you will be joining the Marketing Operations Data team at a pivotal moment in scaling Marketing success through the coming year. Your work will help build and scale the foundation of a Marketing Operations team that supports an innovative and passionate Marketing organization. Using rigorous analysis across an expansive breadth of Marketing data and previously unexamined data, your work will help Marketers understand the market impact of programs and support the scaling of those programs as we strive to deliver meaningful classroom learning to every student.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 2+ years experience in querying databases (SQL), leveraging a scripting language (R/Python) to analyze data, and/or using Looker (or other BI tools) to deliver repeatable insights. You have a strong quantitative background, with demonstrated ability to set metrics, gauge success, and translate insight into effective recommendations for stakeholders across several disciplines. You love diving into the nitty-gritty of data, but never lose sight of the big picture. You may even have some experience in content or media (a plus, not required).
