About the Opportunity:

WeWork is currently seeking a Lead to join our dynamic Corporate Communications team. This position will report under the Director, Corporate Communications – based out of WeWork’s headquarters in New York City – and offers a unique opportunity to blend corporate with consumer communications, encompassing WeWork’s various functional teams and range of product offerings. 

 

The Lead will serve as a key member of the team, supporting the planning and execution of multi-channel global communications efforts, including: real-time media monitoring, gathering research and data, proactive pitching, crafting messaging and supporting the development of briefing materials for leaders across the organization. Additionally, this position will play a key role in informing, enhancing and managing processes and organization, helping the team to track projects and deliverables and operate at its best.

 

We’re looking for great communicators who are highly organized, forward thinking and motivated to learn and grow on a lean, fast-paced team. This role requires a passion for  media relations, excellent creative writing skills and an interest in the role that WeWork has in the future of work. Gravitas, good grace, and humor are key to success. 

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of communications experience - in house or agency, at least some of which is corporate and/or executive communications.

  • Experience supporting media relations efforts - identifying and developing reporter relationships.

  • Ability to help inform strategic communications plans, while also delivering at the tactical/operational level – help conceptualize a strategy, as well as implement it.

  • Strong project management skills – must be able to own and coordinate the creation of multiple key deliverables simultaneously, in a methodical and rigorous manner, while being comfortable managing shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal skills, and experience working with multiple levels, functions and regions.

  • Impact player – you must be a strong self-starter who is willing to make their mark in a fast-moving, results-oriented organization.

  • A true team player – low ego, no job too big or small. Humility is key. This is a flat and lean team, we’re looking for a willingness to jump in as needed on anything.
