We are searching for a Content Marketing Strategist to join our team.

As a member of the Wealth Management Marketing Team, this position will be responsible for professional financial services writing. The Content Marketing Strategist will work with subject matter experts to source, write and produce engaging thought leadership for our clients and prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop external content to promote Northern Trust Wealth Management's holistic advice value proposition to clients and prospects
  • Manage strategy, concept and delivery to promote our investment expertise through a mix of market commentary, videos and podcasts
  • Provide editorial review of external-facing content to ensure alignment with brand, core value proposition and key messages
  • Engage field stakeholders on prioritization of topics and gather feedback
  • Coordinate with production and promotion resources (e.g., designers, email marketers, agencies, etc.) to deliver on content strategy
  • Leverage research, data and feedback to drive continuous improvement of content marketing initiatives
  • Support cross-team initiatives to drive increased effectiveness and efficiency

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism (or other writing-focused area of study), finance or economics. Master's degree is a plus but not required.
  • At least 8 years of professional writing experience in financial services, ideally including writing specifically for wealth management audiences.
  • Best-in-class writing skills with a demonstrated track record of promotion and success.
  • Excellent editorial judgment to ensure appropriate content and messaging for external audiences.
  • Intellectual curiosity and aptitude to transform technical opinions and concepts into clear, concise content appropriate for a broad wealth management audience.
  • Ability to build relationships with subject matter experts to articulate a point of view and promote in a valuable, engaging way to client/prospects.
  • Ability to use data to increase usage / effectiveness of content and alter strategy as necessary
  • Experience in managing content across multiple channels and formats, including digital (web, social) and print
  • Strong problem solving skills and collaborative work style.
  • Strong project management skills to manage timely delivery of projects and escalate/resolve issues as needed.
