PURPOSE STATEMENT

The E-Commerce Content Marketing Manager leads efforts to develop and implement the overall online content strategy both internally and externally while setting the standards for best in class ecommerce content that is designed to convert browsers to buyers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Content

  • Act as the SME on ecommerce content quality and guide brand teams during the assets development process
  • Accountable for all ecommerce content marketing initiatives to drive traffic, engagement, leading to sales growth and higher customer retention
  • Work closely with brand and legal teams to ensure all ecommerce developed content meets brand and regulatory guidelines before publishing
  • Collaborate across functions to deliver an effective online content marketing strategy plan to meet the business objectives at the lowest possible cost
  • Use research and consumer profile information to create content our audience is looking while maintaining ongoing optimization efforts to increase engagement and conversion
  • Editorial requirements include basic SEO understanding, online content categorization and structure, development, syndication and measurement. Development of editorial governance and excellence so content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone
  • Act as the gatekeeper/final reviewer before syndicating ecommerce content in syndication tools to retail partners
  • Collect syndication worksheets for new retail outlets and direct internal team to build them in the appropriate tools


Marketing

  • Responsible for development of annual marketing plans with key strategic ecommerce retail partners (e.g. Instacart & Shipt). Tracking results vs. targets and continuously optimizing efforts to achieve annual targets
  • Responsible for maintaining marketing budget and delivering results within budget parameters
  • Develop and execute holistic promotion plans for marketplaces to drive Rich's marketplace growth across brands
  • Monitor all illegal brand products on websites and work with retailers to curb the practice
  • Remain up to date on growing retailers' ecommerce capabilities and continuously optimize our online content and marketing plans with most robust information to maximize growth
  • Understand the digital trends and the online competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with brand teams to design Ratings and Reviews collection tactics
  • Continuously identify and engage new customers to enhance Rich's® brand online and drive incremental sales


Analytics

  • Collect online sales reports for monthly sales tracking from retail partners and work with finance team to compile for Ecommerce Division financials
  • Manage analytics platform to prioritize tasks for daily maintenance updates, including:
  • SEO optimization on retailers' sites
  • Quality and quantity of images, ratings/reviews, product descriptions
  • Conduct post promotion analysis and benchmark our growth vs. the retailers and vs. previous occasions
  • Review daily requests for content updates and process accordingly
  • Develop and maintain ecommerce scorecard with relevant KPI's (e.g. ROAS, Menu Search Placement, Content Integrity, Conversion, Organic vs. Paid Search, etc)
  • Systematically conduct site audits for product catalog data, images, product content, pricing, inventory, etcon e-tail sites, customer sites, marketplace sites, and others.



KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field required (MBA preferred) with minimum 5 years of experience in a marketing role specifically in e-commerce or direct to consumer marketing
  • Experience with content management and syndication platforms
  • High proficiency of SEO landscape and search algorithms experience
  • Experience analyzing and executing competitive SEO analysis
  • Strong data-driven strategic analysis and strategy development skills
  • Demonstrated financial skills to include P&L analysis and other analyses
  • Proven strategic thinking skills
  • Solid communication skills to include verbal and written capabilities; strong presentation ability
  • Proven track record of leadership, taking initiative and delivering results
  • Ability to lead and facilitate key customer interactions
  • Demonstrated success in managing and directing change; self-starter, resilient and adaptable
  • Experience in the food industry a plus
  • Strong PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Exceptional project management skills and cross-functional team leadership required; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience engaging / partnering directly with customers to build and execute mutually beneficial solutions
  • This individual must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work across cross function teams
