As a Compliance Advisor, you report to our Director of Compliance and will be responsible for assisting in the development of a world class compliance program to ensure Bestow operates in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and empower our leaders to make intelligent strategic business decisions.

ABOUT THE ROLE
- Maintain and improve processes and procedures to successfully on-board new laws and regulations that impact Marketing in our life insurance business and be able to review and monitor marketing to ensure compliant advertising is distributed out to the public.
- Develop and implement Bestow’s overall risk-based compliance program and related policies in a fast-paced insurtech start-up environment.
- Serve as the compliance contact for Bestow appointed agents regarding marketing compliance related issues.
- Ensure continuous and appropriate surveillance processes are implemented to validate ongoing Marketing Compliance requirements. Most importantly, you will have the ability to become a valued partner to the business leaders, and effectively assist them in developing business controls to manage and mitigate regulatory risk in regard to advertising.
- Develop and implement a Marketing Compliance testing program to determine ongoing compliance with internal policies and procedures, and all legal/regulatory requirements.
- Resolve and respond to consumer and regulatory complaints that may arise and ensure proper record retention maintained.
- Review advertising materials in compliance system of record to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist in the management and coordination of Market Conduct Examinations related to Marketing and the development of corrective actions to ensure continued compliance.
- Ensure the timely marketing reviews and appropriate reporting of significant Marketing Compliance issues and their remediation. Stay apprised of current industry trends to help ensure proper checks and balances are in place.
ABOUT YOU
- Experience with life insurance agent operations and regulations, particularly in the area of marketing, advertising, and agent workforce issues.
- 7+ years of Life insurance industry experience.
- Experience with cMAX, PerformLine, and Microsoft suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience with SBS, NIPR, Sircon/Vertafore and other producer licensing platforms.
- Time management skills
- Highly developed organizational, creative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with compliance and business personnel.
- High attention to detail and broad knowledge of insurance industry.
- Bachelor’s degree required
