Work within the Corporate Communications department of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (Bank) to develop internal/external communications messaging and campaigns that align with the Bank's overall business strategy, brand image and messaging. The position entails a heavy volume of writing and editing, member (customer) relations, and is integral to the Bank's communications strategy, which targets members, public officials, community organizations and the media. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer/storyteller who is forward thinking and creative in the approach to content messaging for various communications mediums, while operating in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop high-impact internal/external communications including annual reports, employee and executive messaging, articles, e-blasts, intranet content, blog posts, backgrounders, speeches, podcast/video scripts/storyboards, meeting presentations, etc.
  • Drive and implement communications campaigns and strategies to support the Bank's brand, products and services and support/advance member, employee and other stakeholder engagement, ensuring information is presented in a clear and consistent manner in compliance with Bank policies and in adherence with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop content and manage production of publications, such as magazines, newsletters, annual reports and CSR and ESG reports.
  • Conduct research and interviews to develop content that demonstrates the real-world benefits and applications of the Bank's products, programs and services.
  • Translate complex financial and other topics and/or concepts into digestible, simple, engaging and humanized content.
  • Develop, refresh and post content to the employee intranet and member (customer)-facing communications portal.
  • Understand the Bank's audiences and tune messaging and content to their needs and perspectives.
  • Develop PowerPoints and other presentations, often through synthesizing complex and/or ambiguous information into presentation form.
  • Utilize expert-level PowerPoint skills to develop presentations and provide guidance and assist business units with presentations, while ensuring use of disclosure rules and consistency of brand standards and communications style across internal/external communications content lines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders with the ability to manage up or down to meet objectives and deliverables.
  • Serve as a resident SME and coach for writing quality, with the ability to create, review and approve written materials, ensuring compliance with the Bank's procedures, policies and standards.
  • Support media relations efforts through developing pitch narratives and crafting compelling news releases.
  • Support and back up key functions such as social media and corporate event planning.
  • Manage photographers, videographers, designers, other external vendors and interns.
  • Live the Bank's Pursue Growth value by remaining current on latest communications best practices, trends, guidelines and AP style.
  • Promote an environment of empathy and respect, while advocating for diversity in all levels of the organization from interaction with team members to the selection of business partners and vendors, to the practice of inclusion in all levels of decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree required with a major in communications, public relations, journalism or business.
  • Previous experience in a full-time corporate communications position with demonstrated experience producing annual reports, conceptualizing and executing communications campaigns and strategies, crafting product/marketing sheets and/or one-pagers, developing scripts/storyboards and overseeing a video editing/production process, developing business presentations with expert-level use of PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience as shown through a formal portfolio (include link when applying is preferred).
  • Ability to translate complex subjects into easily understood content.
  • Exceptional written communication, proofing and copy-editing skills, as well as mastery of AP style usage and grammar.
  • Think critically and outside of the box to support positioning, messaging and tactical delivery of communications plans.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong presentation (both written and oral) skills.
  • Customer-service oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities.
  • Proven track record of building and executing communications campaigns.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and prior experience working with financial industry trade associations and/or federal and state governmental entities is highly desired. Experience with technical and/or financial product communications and marketing is a plus.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills and proficiency with Excel and Adobe Acrobat are required; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and experience using a content management system, such as Kentico, is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work weekend and/or evenings, as projects dictate. Ability to travel up to 10%.
