Overview
The Communications Strategist is responsible for the content strategy and creation of customer communications for PennyMac's Loan Servicing Division. As the main point of contact for communications projects, they'll guide and direct the process to identify, write/edit, organize and implement customer-focused communications across multiple channels (print, email, SMS, etc.) ensuring efficient, timely and cost-effective methods.
Job Description

  • Strategize and develop content for customer communications that delivers on the project's objectives, cost benefit analysis, and requirements
  • Interpret business requirements to create communications that align with company, divisional and lines of business (LOB) strategies
  • Ensure our communications comply with PennyMac's brand guidelines, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements (and changes)
  • Manage content creation end to end, including edits, reviews, layout direction, and various approvals
  • Establish and adhere to communications project timelines
  • Identify new opportunities to enhance customer communications to improve our overall customer experience
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and effectively partner with key stakeholders for communications optimization
  • Have a (or develop a) basic understanding of the legal and compliance requirements for communications within the mortgage industry
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in strategic communications, or communications preferred
  • Ability to write strategic and creative customer communications
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Suite
  • Strong language skills (grammar, punctuation and syntax)
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Meticulous, highly organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Creative critical thinking, problem solving, and project management skills
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail, yet able to work independently
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
