Overview

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic internal and external communications that promote the Bank's corporate priorities and brand-consistent messaging, while supporting and increasing a positive corporate reputation. This position is also responsible for ensuring the creation of informative content that conveys the Bank's value proposition to associates, customers, news media, and other key stakeholders. The position may lead projects and initiatives with significant impact to the Bank. Manages a team of associates who develop and execute corporate messaging utilizing various channels (i.e. intranet, customer communications, news and social media, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Communications Management - Manages messaging, copy editing, and proofreading of all integrated communications including Intranet and website articles, emails, letters, and speeches. Develops and implements tools for measuring impact and effectiveness and takes appropriate action to improve communication results.
  • Communications Strategy - Develops and presents a comprehensive communications plan for strategic corporate initiatives that ensure all necessary audiences are reached through the most effective channels. Consults with internal and external constituents to keep current on Bank initiatives, priorities, and issues.
  • Public Relations - Manages the development and execution of strategic and brand-aligned messaging across corporate, regulatory, and media communications. Shapes public perception of the Bank through guidance of new releases, regulatory customer communications, video creation, and photographic services. Provides expert consultation on situations that affect the Bank's reputation.
  • Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Makes appropriate changes to team processes, procedures, and efficiencies to meet objectives. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff to meet long-term department needs.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Internal or External Communications or Public Relations OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Internal or External Communications or Public Relations

Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Services

License or Certification Type: Public Relations Society of America Accreditation, or membership in public relations or communications professional groups Preferred

Additional Skill(s):

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence, public relations, social media, etc.
  • Knowledge of photography, videography, and podcast creation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to effectively engage with department and cross-functional team members at all levels
  • Possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
  • Possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to resolve issues
  • Strong personal presence to represent department and Bank at the highest levels both internally and externally
