Communications Manager - REMOTE

Meraki is looking for an expert communications professional to become a key member of a growing comms team. This person will be able to build strong relationships across the organization, from the digital workplace team to product leadership, to provide guidance on a variety of communications projects. Our ideal candidate will work with technical experts to distill complex topics down to easily consumable messages. They will be skilled in connecting the needs of our internal teams with the needs of our customers and partners to create and guide critical and/or crisis communications projects. With the ability to move back and forth between projects with ease, this role will be an important part of the internal communications program, helping various teams reach other Merakians at the right time with the right message.
What you will do:
- Act as the main contact for critical communications projects, partnering with product managers, support, and various marketing teams to communicate quickly and clearly with internal and external audiences
- Support teams within Meraki as they look to communicate important updates to the rest of the organization, collaborating and advising on messaging, clarity, and best practices
- Play an active role in the creation and direction of monthly Town Hall meetings
- Work closely with the rest of the Communications and Content teams to help “simplify everything,” driving efficiency and consistency across the programs we own
- Foster relationships with other comms professionals both within Meraki and within Cisco to keep our teams aligned and informed
- Bring new ideas to the table with regularity, always looking for ways for make our communications more engaging and effective
You have:
- 5 to 7+ years in corporate communications with experience in critical communications projects
- Experience in the technology industry
- Self-motivation and you’re able to run with projects with (at times) minimal direction
- First-class writing and editing skills
- A collaborative and cross-functional mindset
- Meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines consistently
- A skill for developing relationships with senior leaders and key partners, prioritizing and setting expectations as needed
- Open, effective, and consistent communication skills; you’re someone who is not afraid to throw out an idea or challenge an existing one to help advance the business mission
- A keen eye for prioritizing while being flexible, adaptable, and open; unphased by change
