We are looking for a Communications Lead, Acquisitions (CLA). This position works closely with the Acquisitions Team to strategically support growth for the company by focusing our marketing efforts for acquisition opportunities and encourage consistency and standardization of collateral marketing materials. This role requires the ability to operate on both a strategic and tactical level, across all aspects of communications within the client acquisition roadmap.

The CLA provides leadership to develop and manage communications, including sensitive and confidential material, for all acquisition integrations. This includes writing for multiple mediums comprising ebulletins, infographics, integration site language, all staff announcements as well as website. The role also includes working with a larger Stantec team of Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations, and Communications professionals to build our brand awareness and identify market opportunities for top line growth.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Operate on both a strategic and tactical level, across all aspects of communications within the client acquisition roadmap
  • Develop and lead communications schedule, facilitate communications calls, provide recommendations on best communication approach with change management mindset
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager, Acquisitions, to articulate, communicate and track project assignments, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, program issues under review, and deadlines /completion timeframes to the team
  • Advise the team on selecting and applying problem-solving methods and techniques
  • Advise the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload among team members in accordance with established workflows, skill level, and/or occupational specialization
  • Effectively communicate with senior management, supervisors, peers, and clients, (written, verbal, interpersonal)
  • Ability to move easily from day-to-day details to strategic overall picture
  • Drive robust and detailed measurement and reporting processes

  • Proven project management skills
  • Ability to identify, develop and make recommendations for new requirements and improvements
  • Highly effective written skills honed to develop thoughtful, strategic, and detailed narratives
  • Commitment to client service and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization and time management skills
  • Must thrive working assertively in a fast paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to thrive under the pressure of new challenges and projects
  • Able to work independently, as well as part of an effective team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with a high-level of integrity, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all Company policies, standards, values, and procedures



Education and Experience

  • Post-Secondary in English, journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, or an equivalent level of experience
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in a senior communications role in a medium to large sized organization
