The Red Hat North America Public Sector (NAPS) Field Marketing team is looking for a Channel Marketing Specialist to join us in McLean, VA. In this role, you will develop and implement the channel marketing strategy for the state and local government and education (SLED) markets to support the growth of the indirect business. You will also deliver and implement marketing programs targeting the mid market segment and accounts to guide awareness and lead generation, providing cover for channel partner marketing programs. You will participate in demand creation activities through the channel and work either with or on behalf of partners to develop, implement, and measure joint marketing plans and activities. As a Channel Marketing Specialist, you will work closely with partners, channel account managers, and the global demand center to create and implement innovative and strategic channel activities that will increase awareness, generate leads, reinforce customer and channel relationships, and build pipeline and sales opportunities. You will also coordinate the local implementation of channel campaigns and programs and support and deliver partner enablement and engagement activities.
What you will do

  • Partner with channel account managers to build channel strategy for the SLED market; align with organization's channel priorities, sales objectives, and bookings targets
  • Set the strategic and tactical direction for channel marketing activities
  • Work with partners to deliver comprehensive go-to-market plans and high-quality marketing activities that will guide targeted demand creation, leads, and pipeline
  • Develop and carry out programs targeting mid market accounts to promote awareness and lead generation and provide cover for channel partner marketing efforts
  • Promote awareness and enablement programs to inform partners of the latest campaigns, solutions and offerings, partner wins, and tools that Red Hat is creating to help them grow their businesses
  • Manage, administer, measure, and report on channel budgets and market development funds (MDF)
  • Measure, analyze, and report on channel marketing pipeline-building activities to determine their contribution to pipeline health and to evaluate marketing effectiveness and ROI


What you will bring

  • 5+ years of marketing experience with a solid understanding of indirect B2B or B2G channels
  • Familiarity with standard marketing performance metrics
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working within channel marketing and supporting partners is a plus
  • Experience marketing to the public sector market is a plus
