Our B2B marketing strategists are responsible for leading the data-driven strategy in Scorpion’s vertical business units. The scope of the marketing campaigns you’ll own include vertical brand strategy, lead gen/demand gen, social media, events, PR, email, and more.

 

The position will report directly to our Senior Marketing Strategist, and you will also work closely with other members of the corporate marketing and sales team as well as our broader organization.


This role will be responsible for overseeing Scorpion’s vertical strategy, strategic events, creative/design strategy, and other corporate marketing activities and programs. As a strategic leader, you’ll partner closely with other leaders and stakeholders across Scorpion to help create rich content, PR, trade associations, events, and experiences that effectively communicate the value of Scorpion to your vertical audiences.


This role will capitalize on innovative approaches to develop high-impact marketing strategies and drive our brand upmarket. This is a role that will have a significant impact on long-term vertical growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, scale and manage marketing strategies across key inbound channels such as SEO, SEM, Paid social, display, email, direct mail, and referral partners
  • Work with sales, product, customer success, and demand gen teams to develop campaigns that are effective, and relevant to your persona(s)
  • Manage your vertical website and web roadmap in partnership with product and design leaders to create dynamic experiences for our prospects and customers
  • Work with sales development to optimize lead management for your vertical
  • Partner with the sales team to prioritize, qualify leads, and identify opportunities for new nurture programs
  • Build a vertical brand and content marketing strategy and work closely with the team to execute integrated campaigns
  • Continually create best practices to streamline reporting and drive effective communication with your vertical leadership team
  • Work with the social media team to create and execute a social media strategy informed by competitive and target audience research
  • Drive brand awareness in your vertical through brand building activities, digital/live events, out-of-the-box creative campaigns, and other corporate programs
  • Guide the strategy and lead the execution of all corporate marketing initiatives for your vertical
  • Lead new, creative multi-channel strategies to widen the funnel and generate new prospect leads
  • Work with the demand gen team to develop campaigns for customer retention, Account-Based Marketing, reengagement, and retargeting Work closely with the Senior Strategist and the product marketing team to develop detailed personas for specific audiences within your vertical
  • Identify new business development opportunities in your vertical including channel and referral partners, influencer relationships, and vertical technical integrations
  • Bring together all tactical efforts with defined sales goals and use feedback from sales to identify new potential opportunities
  • Monitor analytics and provide campaign reports to your leadership team on a regular basis
  • Optimize the campaign marketing mix to increase the ROI on marketing spend by identifying what works, and what doesn’t through continuous testing and recommending ongoing improvements to achieve KPIs

Experience:

  • Professional with at least 7 years of experience planning and executing marketing campaigns, with 3+ years in B2B marketing experience crafting campaigns directed at SMBs
  • Analytical and metrics-driven approach to marketing, with a focus on defining and hitting KPIs while maintaining positive ROI
  • Demonstrated success with multiple forms of demand generation, including content marketing, paid search, direct mail, inbound marketing techniques, email marketing, SEO, and social media
  • Experience building annual marketing plans, and content marketing strategies
  • Proven experience developing and scaling integrated marketing campaigns that deliver conversions, sales pipeline, and revenue
  • Experience leading multiple, closely managed, channels (SEO, paid social, SEM)
  • Experience with managing a $10M+ annual budget
  • Knowledge of marketing automation and marketing operations - email campaigns, landing page development, lead nurturing, etc. (Marketo and/or Pardot, preferred)
  • Highly effective communicator working with sales, sales development, customer success, and product teams
  • Highly qualified candidates will have experience with ABM and direct mail, selling to non-technical audiences, and experience working closely with a sales team and a brand team
  • Strong time management skills, and the ability to establish priorities and communicate expectations
  • Ability to establish credibility through vision, technical expertise, and implementation
  • Able to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
  • Creative thinker who can develop new programs that drive new pipeline
  • Hubspot and/or Salesforce ( Preferred)
  • MailChimp or similar email marketing platform (Preferred)
  • Google Analytics and AdWords as well as Facebook Ads
