About the job
The Red Hat Data Foundation business team is looking for a highly motivated individual with practical experience to join us as an Associate Data Solutions Architect. In this role, you will assist enterprise customers to solve problems using a combination of open source software components. You will be part of our team of architects that develops and deploys emerging vertical industry use cases with customers that can be shared with buyers and sellers globally to initiate validated patterns that deliver measurable customer value. Through collaboration with customers and partners, you will continuously discover and develop repeatable data patterns that can be combined with open source software you write into solutions that target real customer problems. Customer solutions can run across the hybrid cloud including public cloud, private cloud, VMware, and bare-metal environments. Key components of the solutions can include open source technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform or Kubernetes, Open Data Hub, Rook, Red Hat Ceph Storage, NooBaa, Apache Kafka, SQL ,and No-SQL databases. This is a practical global solution architecture position with up to 25% travel and a focus on customers in North America (NA). Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Identify emerging data library patterns to use Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation offerings in validated patterns to solve customer business problems.
  • Discover and describe what differentiates our data solutions from competitive alternatives by working with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders who develop, deploy, and operate our validated patterns
  • Create workload validated patterns and performance characterization guides with major industry partners for data intensive workloads running on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Create and conduct on-demand workshop sessions, providing an expert-assist practical experience for technical buyers and sellers
  • Communicate and promote the results of various validated patterns globally through publication of blogs and speaking at webinars and conferences


What you will bring

  • Solution architecture skills; 1+ year(s) of demonstrable experience architecting customer solutions using Linux, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, software-defined storage solutions, public and private clouds, big data ecosystem tools, DevOps, automation, and monitoring
  • Software development skills; 1+ year(s) of experience with one or more high-level programming languages like Python, Java, Node.js, and Golang
  • Data services skills; 1+ year(s) of experience architecting data engineering and data services-based solutions for big data analytics, data pipelines or AI and machine learning (ML) workloads
  • Linux skills; Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Communications skills; experience publishing blogs and whitepapers or presenting at internal and external webinars and industry conferences is a plus
  • Teamwork skills; 1+ year(s) of experience contributing to a technology team
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Passion for open source and community-based software development models
