About the job
The Red Hat Hybrid Platforms Customer and Field Engagement team is looking for a Technical Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you will help create, manage, and organize the outbound technical marketing activities and assets for product management, engineering, and partner and customer solutions architects to increase success for Red Hat Hybrid Platforms products and offerings. Primary activities involve practical deep-dives into Red Hat and competitor products and solutions to inform creation and design of product demonstrations and technical content (technical blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, etc.) to help the field better sell our Red Hat Hybrid Platforms solutions with a primary focus on Kubernetes and related technologies. You will also help engage with Red Hat customers to increase their success and gather product feedback. To succeed in this role, you need to have knowledge of and be willing to become a subject matter expert on Kubernetes within the realm of cloud deployments of containers. You'll need experience with or educational background in software development or software engineering along with experience with Kubernetes and containers. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Install, configure, and use Red Hat Hybrid Platforms products in comparison with other vendor and open source solutions
  • Produce technical and cost-analysis breakdowns and comparisons
  • Collaborate with product management teams to understand and assist with prioritizing feature and solutions definition
  • Work with product marketing to help align outbound activities with market directions and support the roadmap and releases of our offerings
  • Participate in technical aspects of go-to-market engagements like live streams, roadshows, workshops, webinars, demos of offerings and solutions, industry and partner events, and sales enablement and training
  • Collaborate with sales teams where required in high-contact accounts worldwide through close engagement with field sales and services
  • Engage with field and product management teams to understand and communicate customer requirements, expectations, and pain points to engineering product teams, including assisting with feature prioritization and gap analysis
  • Create internal and external technical marketing collateral alongside product marketing teams, including technical presentations, whitepapers, case studies, blogs, web, social media, and more
  • Create and carry out solutions demos for use externally with trade shows, customers, and more
  • Work with alliance and ecosystem partners through the alliance teams to develop joint value propositions
  • Create other technical marketing proof points while working with other teams that are specific to performance benchmarks, reference architectures, etc.


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in software development or software engineering or computer engineering
  • Experience with web application development and continuous integration (CI) or continuous delivery (CD) practices in any language (Java, Node.js, Python, Ruby, Go, etc.)
  • Understanding of and some experience with open source projects
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Excellent skills in deciphering and understanding technical requirements and use cases
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and meritocratic environment with a distributed remote and global workforce
  • Motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities while working in a highly complex environment
