JOB SUMMARY
The Ad Operations Optimization Specialist oversees a portfolio of online advertising campaigns and digital orders across Charter's online properties and third party inventory. The Optimization Specialist is primarily responsible for optimization & analysis of all ad campaigns through the online ad server. The Optimization Specialist may also be called upon to enter and manage digital orders. This position, within the Digital Operations team, plays a key role in working with regional markets and third party suppliers to effectively manage day-to-day advertising campaign needs and surface trends in delivery and performance. The Ad Operations Optimization Specialist has direct contact with multiple cross-functional teams and levels of the company and at times direct client contact.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively and consistently lead all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Proactively monitor and optimize online campaigns to ensure the highest possible performance metrics while steadily pacing campaigns accordingly.
- Monitor and analyze performance through campaign dashboards and readouts, provide strategic optimization alerts and recommendations.
- Analyze data across campaigns to determine performance and pacing best practices and disseminate this information to the operations team and sales.
- Engage regularly with the Yield Inventory and Planning team.
- Analyzing campaign performance and providing optimization recommendations.
- Conduct meetings with Ops, Sales, and Planning, ensure alignment.
- Enforce Quality Assurance processes (SLAs, errors, etc.) with team supervisors.
- Maintain Ad Ops processes and best practices and provide suggestions to leadership on improvement opportunities.
- Efficiently and effectively manage digital orders and revisions.
- Traffic all ads in the ad serving platform and confirm launch success.
- Communicate effectively and closely with local sales and support teams.
- Provide frequent updates to Sales on campaign delivery details.
- Ensure that campaign revisions are fully communicated and executed with 100% accuracy.
- Monitor the scheduling, pacing, and implementation of all advertising campaigns to ensure timely, accurate implementation, and full delivery.
- Confirm all ad orders adhere to tech and creative specifications and support creative/technical related inquiries from clients.
- Manage relationships with vendors, yield/planning, and other cross-functional teams.
- Effectively troubleshoot campaign performance issues and/or third party data discrepancies.
- Other projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in using data to identify issues and create clear actions
- Passionate about media and the technologies used to support online and/or mobile advertising operations: ad serving, audience management tools, inventory applications, HTML, XML, and third-party ad tags
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Proficient at spreadsheet manipulation. Strong MS Office experience, particularly strong Excel skills.
- Ability to think strategically, create a plan and execute on all phases while practicing excellent time management and working in a self-directed fashion
- Online Ad Server experience
- Experience within the digital online advertising ecosystem, including familiarity with ad management systems such as DoubleClick, FreeWheel, Sizmek, Flashtalking, etc
- Data analysis and reporting or related experience
- Strong understanding of digital advertising operations and industry
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and workflows
- Strong communication skills and provide outstanding customer service, be detail-oriented and well organized with the ability to keep cool under pressure
- Have sense of urgency and strong ability to prioritize tasks, be self-motivated, and able to effectively manage time and priorities
- Work independently or as a team and multitask
